Re: Water tank, pump, and heater size

Hi CC Since you "gutted your engine room", below is the same note I posted today for Barrie...... Something that I've done on all my previous engine rebuilds, and I wish I could now on my current engines (but I can't get at my current installed engines) to do this is...... .....make up a ...

Re: Boot Stripe and Stern Paint

Thank you for the responses. Went with the Interlux 2-part Epoxy Primekote followed by the Interlux Brightside. Results will be posted in my journal.

Can anyone give me the best recommendation for a brand-name black gloss paint for my boot stripe and stern? Painting tomorrow and would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Re: 13 meter upgrades

Going with the Dynamat Xtreme under the cockpit and on the side walls.

Putting the Dynamat Hoodliner over the Xtreme on the hatch directly over the engine.

Will post results in my restoration journal. Thanks.

Re: Night Boating With An IR Camera And IR Flashlight

Realistically, before you consider IR for night time boating, you should first look at radar.... IR in my mind is more of a diagnostic aid (engine or exhaust temperatures, electrical circuits overheating, etc) or emergency aid (man overboard), or perhaps enhancing close quarters maneuvering in the ...

Wow, big project! Godspeed Barrie.

For a second there I thought the stove next to the fridge with the pans on it was a deep fryer! I was like, this guy is planning on cooking wings n' french fries onboard! :D

Re: Water tank, pump, and heater size

In this case, I would consider adding a potable water fitting to the boat with a tank bypass valve so that it feeds your water system directly without over pressurizing your tank. Something like this? My hose would connect to the hose end. Then my water filter would connect to the other end. Which ...

This is what I picked up from West Marine. Going to be a snug cozy fit in there. 28gal waste holding tank full system. http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr185/captainchill/7894033_zps7y9r6biz.jpg http://www.westmarine.com/buy/sealand--28-gallon-holding-tank-system--7894033 12gal Hot water heater w/...

Re: New Member - Beginning of a Restoration Journal

If you really wanted to remove that fuel tank you could cut it up with a sawsall. Cut it in half or quarters should then fit out just about any door or window! That'd be one way for sure. But not so sure how it would end up since it's about 80% full of fuel at the moment! haha I think there was a m...

Re: Night Boating With An IR Camera And IR Flashlight

Curious to see your results as I am looking for a cheap alternative to the IR nighttime boating experience. Please keep us updated when you get to try it out.

When you mean direct wifi you mean all I have to do is have a router right? It doesn't have to be connected to the internet to work correct?

Re: 13 meter upgrades

I used Dynamat Hoodliner in my engine compartment and it reduced the noise significantly It has adhesive backing which worked well. Pricey as well. But it's a proven brand-name for sure. Says to use Dynamax Xtreme and then the hoodliner for best results. Did you do the whole cockpit floor or just a...

Re: Water tank, pump, and heater size

The second pump draws raw water from the lake, this way I'm not using up all of fresh water for flushing. Nice setup. I'll be at the Marina most of my time so I'm going with a fresh water flush. I'm looking for something where I can plug my hose into my fill tank and leave the hose faucet on but th...

Re: Water tank, pump, and heater size

Thanks for the replies.

I guess the question is does the gpm affect the pressure of the water?

Example: Will I have a shower with stronger water pressure with a 5gpm pump as apposed to a 3gpm?
