Boat is In
My boat is afloat and we spent the weekend on her. Had to ride out one thunderstorm on Sunday morning but all was good. It's going to be a long week at work this week until I can get back to her.

wrong type
The more I read, the more I think I have zinc anodes on my boat instead of magnesium. They have been on the boat for four years with very little corrosion and have a good layer of oxide on them. In fresh water I should have magnesium anodes and they should not have a built up layer on them and they ...

Cleaning Zincs
The zincs on my propeller shafts and trim tabs are in good shape but have a white/tan layer of crust on them. Is this zinc oxide? Should I clean this off before I launch it or should I just launch it and leave it on? Seems that the layer would protect the zinc from getting in good contact with the w...

Teak
If it is not dirty, just oil it with any brand of teak oil you prefer. I use Watco teak oil and they also make a teak cleaner/oil. The light spots from water damage will disappear over a few days after oiling once the oil penetrates and disperses into the wood. If it has not been done in a few years...

Polish- Wax
Thanks for the input. I know that I am not supposed to use any product that contains caranuba as it can tend to yellow the Imron paint over time. I see a lot of people with Imron painted cars are using compounds on their cars with good results. Mine is basically in great shape but there are some are...

Polish
I don't actually polish it with a buffer like some do. I just wipe the boat down to remove any dirt with a damp terry towel and then hand apply with a damp sponge a light coat of polish and then wipe it down. I've done this for the last six years and there are no scratches. Just makes the crud harde...

Boat Polish
I'm getting ready to polish/clean the hull this weekend and was wondering what everyone is using as a polish or polish/cleaner wax for their boats. My boat has been repainted in Imron including the black bootstripe and the specs say it never needs wax but I have always polished the sides before I la...

+1 on the two part epoxy barrier coat. Then paint two or three coats bottom paint of your choice.

Pennants Shipped
Wow that was fast. I received my shipping notice from PayPal that Kerry has shipped my pennant.
Just in time for my boat to launch with the pennant on Friday the 13th.
This will help ward off any evil that may be lurking because of the date.

Fire Extinguisher
Look up Fire Extinguisher Service in any phone book and you will find a company that services all kinds of systems. If they don't handle Halon systems they will know someone who does. You can have a Halon system in use but you can not get it recharged once used. You will need to switch to another ty...

Pictures of Bottom Paint Job
When they pull it out of the storage building just before launch I will get some photos. It is too dark in there now to get a good picture.

Finished Painting
Well I finished painting the hull and it looks beautiful. I put three coats on the sides and stern and two on the bottom. I went on very easy and the color is very nice deep black. After a little research online, I see that most people having issues with Hydrocoat are in warm salt or brackish water....

RPM at IDLE
should be about 750 at idle in neutral and around 650 in gear. Should never exceed 1000 rpms when switching gear directions unless you are going to hit something hard and fast.
