rudders

I too have one loose rudder. I think I'll knock the pin out and put a bolt through it until I can make up my mind if I want to change them or extend them or what. I sure appreciate all the people on this forum, makes me think harder, oww.

bottom paint

my 1975 f-32 had blue and had been changed to black and when I had the bottom stripped and painted I went with black, I don't know if there is any benefit to any particular color but they all look good when they're newly painted, personal preference I guess.

rudders

thanks, I'll have a talk with the marine service where the boat is dry docked and maybe they can come up with something, if not I'll wait until next time it's out of the water. I'm having boating withdrawals and need to get it back in the water right away. My wife says I'm obsessed........nahhh........

rudders

Wow, every time I look at trojan pictures I am totally amazed at how far ahead of there time they were and how gorgeous these boats are. No wonder there are so many old trojans still going. However, I've seen so many different rudders on them that I've come to the conclusion that it must be like eve...

too small rudders

How do you get the rudders off an F-32? I'd like to see what it would take to have them extended or something. When my starboard engine died last week (out of fuel in that tank, gauge?) I had no steerage with just the port engine running. What a pain in the ...... had to be towed even though I had o...

wood

In the eighties I restored three wooden Tollycrafts and numerous other smaller boats but now I just don't have the energy or the time for wood. I'd rather be fishin' or cruising or crabbing out of Ilwaco,Wa. in my F-32.

hull cracks

1975 F-32, To get the boat to balance in the sling I had to put the forward sling just aft of the first galley window and the rear sling just in front of the tank vents. the first pick I wasn't paying attention, but the second time I picked the boat to pull a prop I noticed all four places were squa...

The standard way to check for the correct prop size is to run the throttles wide open in calm water. If your RPM's are between 4000 and 4400 then they are just right. If the rpm's run below 4000 at full throttle you need to go smaller, either pitch or diameter. This will allow the engine not to lug....

hull construction?

Thanks guys, thats one more thing I don't have to worry about. I get nervous thinking about this boat being on the pacific northwest waters for 30 yrs with only one tiny little bilge pump in the bow and having a thin hull between the stringers. I'm in the process of installing more bilge pumps, 1100...

hull construction?

Does anybody know how the bottom of the 1975 F32 is constructed? If it is solid fiberglass, glassed over plywood core, or some other kind of glass covered core. I'm new to the Trojan site but have been boating forty five years, since I was ten years old, (10' wood row boat on the Cowlitz River in Wa...
