Re: Swim Deck Project

I have a question.. was there a swim platform before you installed this? So what I'm asking was the hardware installed already. I'm looking to install a swim platform on mine but need to completely install from scratch.

Re: My ammeter installation

My 1985 tricabin left the factory without any ammeters installed, something I find incredulous, since I think that there should be some way of indicating how much power you are drawing other than blown breaker method. Wanting to know how much load I as actually drawing from my shore power lines (an...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

I was thinking of cutting the top skin approx 4 inches in from wall this way I have something to glass back to. That sounds like a good plan. The rule of thumb I have always heard is to bevel 12X the thickness of the fiberglass to have a safe joint. If the fiberglass is 1/4", you should bevel ...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

If you do it from the bottom up, you are working against gravity -- much harder to do. What about cutting sections of the deck fiberglass out, repairing the core and gluing the skin back down? That way you only have small areas of fiberglass to repair. You get to keep much of the non-skid and also ...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

Wow. Wow. Wow. Is all i have to say. I have f32 with a soft bow. I was hoping to try and fix it from below to not have to cut out the top. Has anyone ever tried to do that b4? Or am I wasting my time doing it that way?

Re: 1974 f32 floor rebuild info needed

+1 . I have a 75 32f salon needs a back deck and the bow needs to be redone as well. Some soft spots. I was thinking of doing a full glass back with a large access door like you did there. Just dont know how to completely support the hatch door to handle all of the weight

Re: New to the Trojan family

For a generator on my boat, the original Onan was replaced with a Westerbeke 7.5 Low Profile. It is the quietest generator I've ever heard. There is absolutely no sound outside except a splash of cooling water (my bilge pump is louder) and the inside is a relatively pleasant hum. This might be beca...

Re: Barnacle Buster

This is true. But what could be the other ingredients besides water? Wouldn't the acid destroy most other addictives? I suspect the other ingredients include buffers to control the PH at safe levels and corrosion inhibitors. If you have any aluminum or zinc in your circulation path for the flush, I...

Re: Barnacle Buster

Yes, that is the problem. Like most companies, they do not want to give away any of their secrets, so the technical data is vague and the MSDS only has to list dangerous chemicals. With the concentrate version being less than 50% phosphoric acid, there is another 50% of unlisted ingredients that ar...
