Re: Holding Tank

I have had good luck with Ardemco. They will put the fittings where you want them. You should think about putting in 2 vents while you are having a new tank put in. I like 2 1" to 1 1/2" vents, one going to each side of the boat. It will get more oxygen into the tank and help control the a...

Re: Bow Thruster Installation/Use

I am not that familiar with the F26, but is there sufficent depth in the hull forward to get the thruster deep enough into the water to make it effective? It needs to be down far enough so that it will not cavitate by drawing air down from the surface. If it isn't deep enough, you will be wasting a ...

Re: Raw water alarm saves the day

I wanted the WIF sensors because our boat on the west coast took on a load of bad fuel. The sensors let me know when I needed to change the filters and I did not have any issues with leaks. I looked at the photos of your boat, very nice! Mine is a 41 but has almost exactly the same interior. The bun...

Re: Raw water alarm saves the day

The boat is in Kinsale, VA now. It has 225 Lehmans. Have not really looked at the exact route we will be taking yet. I am leaving here on Friday to go to the boat for about 2 weeks. Am going to attend American Diesels class on the Lehmans, looking forward to it. I did not mean to hijack this thread...

Re: Raw water alarm saves the day

Glad to hear that the Borel alarms work so well. I just ordered 2 alarms with 3 exhaust temperature sensors, 2 water in fuel sensors and 2 high water alarms for our "new" 1987 President 41 Double Cabin. I am replacing the 2 non marine Racor 900's with 900 MA's and am going to have the WIF ...

Re: PEEE UUU

The problem is that your holding tank is not getting enough fresh air. The smell comes from anerobic bacteria. Aerobic bacteris does not smell. By adding air to the tank, the smell will go away and you won't even have to add chemicals. We had a 46' trawler that developed the horrible smell whenever ...

Re: shaft packing question

If you want to stop the black debris from getting all over, you can cut a 2 liter soda bottle to make a shield around the shaft so the black stuff stays inside the bottle and just dribbles out instead of spraying all over. It is a shame to get your beautiful bilge so dirty...

Re: DC system failure of F32

On my Chryslers, there are circuit breakers that feed the battery switches. They are on the top rear of the engines and are red. Don't know what engines you have, but it is something to check.

Re: Bow pulpits

My pulpit is 5' long with about 3' on the deck. It is through bolted with backing plates. The windlass has 4 studs through the deck which have backing plates. There is a total of 8 bolts/studs holding the pulpit. When you drill through the deck, make sure you over drill the holes larger and reef out...

Re: Fixin her up!

The previous owner had the name in metalflake tape. I removed the tape, but the gel was burned brown very deep and it would not even sand out with 400 grit. I ended up painting the transom.

F32 lazarette storage

Just made a canvas storage bag for the lazarette hatch. I am going to use it to store 2 fenders for the stern area. I made it snap in so that it is easily removable in case I need to access the lazarette underneath the storage bag. Took about an hour to fabricate.

Re: Accessory Switch

On mine, it went to a connector panel down on the starboard side that was listed in the prints as accessory. There was nothing hooked up to the connector.
