Re: MCCK Generator

I did remove the carb and fuel pump and brought it all home. I used a 1/4" hex socket to get the torque head bolts off that hold the pump on. I took the pump apart and cleaned it with carb cleaner and purged the pump after it was assembled with brake cleaner. It pumps brake cleaner so it should...

Re: MCCK Generator

Good point about cleaning the carb. I'll suck it up and take it and the pump out. In regard about the fuel filter, there is a small jar style filter inline before the pump. There filter was missing. It has a small petcock in it that was shut. I opened it and passed carb cleaner thru it to make sure ...

Re: MCCK Generator

Well I tried starting my gen yesterday. It runs with starting fluid only. I even filled the filter bowl with fuel when I replaced the filter. I tried leaving the fuel line off at the carb so I would see the gas pumping from the fuel pump, but there is nothing. The fuel pump is buried under the carb ...

Re: Unplesant smell after head flush

I have slight smell from my tank also. I was told to make sure the vent hose is dressed not to allow liquid to be trapped in a drupe in the hose. The trapped liquid will not allow the tank to breath. mine was laying in the bilge, so I tie wrapped it so it sloped to the thru hull. Not sure if the tra...

Very cool. I'm sure I'll be asking allot of details if I end up changing the shaft out. Thanks again for your help on the other items.

Re: MCCK Generator

I looked at the shaft in the parts catalog. Strangely shaped around the oring area. I don't expect to replace it (yet), but Just wondering how did you duplicate it?

MCCK Generator

Our 73 Tri cabin (Lola), was brought back from abandonment 4 years ago. She was in a barn protected from the elements for 12 years before we found her. This year i thought I'd get the Onan generator going. Everything seems to work but the engine itself. That is the blower goes on for several minutes...

Re: TriCabin Berth Enlargement

I think I can picture that. I have a hatch on the aft deck that I think I'd have to open when running the fans. Thanks Aaron.

Re: TriCabin Berth Enlargement

No problem we're all busy these days. Mine are under bunks in the aft cabin (v drive). You mentioned your dad added fans. Just wondering where and how and so forth.

Re: Fuel Pumps M400

I thought I should follow up with what eventually happened with these fuel pumps. I did get "Marine" style pumps from Marysville. I figured if anyone had a clean kit it would be the original manufacturer. The pumps had a hose fitting glued into the vent hole in the pump. The pumps that Mar...
