Re: Prop strut backing plates
Update for anyone needing to do the same on their F32, without removing the floor/tanks. With the help of a friend and a Home Depot/lunch run, it took about 6hrs to replace both. Things to note: 1/4 tank of fuel in both. The aft freshwater tank in between fuel tanks must be removed. In order to rais...

Re: Prop strut backing plates
By the way, does anyone know the bolt sizes off hand? I’d like to source new hardware before I start taking things apart.

Re: Prop strut backing plates
P-dogg—funny you mention it because my father said the same, and I have to completely agree and continually remind myself that the wooden ones have lasted this long; why change now?

Re: Prop strut backing plates
Did you remove the tanks in order to gain access? I think I have enough room if I remove the wooden aft fuel tank brace. And it looks like there is some sort of adhesive between hull and wood. I plan to 5200 the bolts and bottom of new backing plates.

Prop strut backing plates
Hey gang.
I’m due to replace the soft (wooden) propstrut backing plates on the boat. Can anyone provide any insight or tips? What can I use as a wood replacement? Or stick with wood?

WayWeGo,
Are your swim platform brace arms just regular bolted stainless tubing? Or welded?

Re: What’s wrong with this picture?
Definitely a difference there. What determines if tabs need zinc’s or not? My last boat had tabs, but no zincs. Same with the Trojan. Next on my to-do list—-I removed the fresh water tank yesterday. Planning to install a different size/shape tank before spring. But for now, it’s to allow room for me...

Re: What’s wrong with this picture?
Was able to pull the tabs off this morning before the rain hit here in Maryland. Port side tab was missing 2 screws, and the remaining screws were rusted/corroded. Tips rusted away. 1 or two were ate away to the thickness a drywall screw. Starboard screws came out good as new. Whoever the did instal...

Re: What’s wrong with this picture?
Thanks for the info on the prop nuts. I have never seen tabs mounted to the bottom before. I walked around the marina looking at other older boats and their tabs were mounted on the transom—as I thought they should be. Coincidentally, I had water seeping from where the port tab is mounted; to which ...

Good eye!
Trojan didn’t install factory tabs like this, correct?
And what is incorrect with the prop nut?

Swim Platform Support Arms
Hey gang,
Looking for alternatives to the (wooden) support arms I'm currently missing for the swim platform. All hardware is still there attached. Is stainless my best option? Not hauling until spring, but I'm trying to start the "to-do" list and gather misc supplies.
Thanks
Brian

Re: Leaking Transmission
Thanks guys.
Would you be surprised if I told you I saw no sign of tranny fluid after a 5 minute warm up, and short 100’ trip to my dock?
Weird.
Did notice a pulley squeak from what looks to be the water pump. Pulley looks loose/woobling. But is pressed on. Hope to have a diagnosis tomorrow.

Re: Leaking Transmission
Well, it happened sooner than expected; but probably for the best.
I ended up purchasing the f32 yesterday.
Have a ton of work ahead of me, but looking forward to the journey.
