BLACK JACK is back....in the water

OK, so just a little update... Got her to South Amboy NJ at Lockwoods Boatworks about 3-4 weeks ago. She was put back in the water yesterday. Both motors started without much hesitation, so I'm happy with that. I should be taking the ride to home port this weekend. I will keep you posted. I will sta...

Now the two 3k bills from marinas in FL and NJ, I feel are way high for the work that was done...

Re: trim tab upgrade - mid cabin '88

RWS, thanks for posting the specs. I sent a couple of pics to Bennett but it turns out that my boat has Boat Leveler tabs, not Bennett after all. They're smaller at 8"x24". I checked with Insta Trim/Boat Leveler and the replacemet tabs are $475! A lot more than Bennett and they're 11"...

i like the swim platform even more now that I see it close up.  Sometimes I wish I was a craftsman instead of a salesman. Sales has its financial rewards, but nothing that compares to having the ability to design, fabricate, install and repair with your own hands. Great job!!! Pride of ow...

Yes there is a compressor in the forward bilge as well, I think this was an original option, I have the original sales brochure and I think I read that it was on the boat from new.

I will definitely have some pictures up by the weekend...

no doubt!!

Me too, who the heck would spend money on such a stupid option.

I will take some pictures when I am on the boat this weekend.

Keeping all fingers crossed, she is going in the water on Saturday

Just so I make myself clear, I am talking about the pocket door to the head, the door to the master cabin as well as the side cabin.

I gotta start posting some pics too...

Wow with 38 views and no responses are these "airdoors" an option that only an idiot would order when buying the boat new. I mean, let's be serious, they sound cool in theory, but obviously a total disaster in real world boating. Sad part is most of the system looks updated, that tank look...

air assisted pocket doors on 13M express

Hi folks,

So I found this 3ft air tank in the foward bilge, followed the air lines to the doors which have air pistons above.

Nothing works.

I think I am just going to remove everything and get doors in workin order.

Anyone have this system on their boat?

Does it work?

Any suggestions?

[quote="RWS"]Got it off the engine room floor by building marine plastic/plywood shelves for the HVAC, waste pump, macerator pump and fresh water pump. Easier to service and more room to move around in the engine room. Would love to see some pics of your engine room set up

Yup, we think alike

It is almost like a check list you can use as a run down for your own boat for spring systems inspections...

Why noy run it on its own bottom to get it home ? There are so many things that can go wrong, I really dont have the time, it is definitely not going to save me a bunch of money, the boat has too many small issues that I know about as well as probably a handful more that have not been discovered ye...
