Re: Engine issues
Did I miss where you checked fuel filters for gunk? Gas tanks still the original galvanized steel? I’m only a lil old F26 with single Chrysler 318 but was having some of the same weird engine issues, especially at 3K RPM or over. Prior owner used to “solve” it with dry gas, but he only kept the tank...

Re: Ignition switch going bad?
Yup. Sh_t happens, usually when you least need it to. Got “stranded” a few years back at a marina off the Erie Canal with a bad ignition switch. Happened on a Saturday after we spent the night at their dock. Had to wait until Monday afternoon for replacement. Turns out they had a pool, bar, restaura...

Re: New Member - Beginning of a Restoration Journal
Hey, Capt Chill. I’ve been on and off this Forum since the day I bought our 1977 F26 HT and I’ve had some dreams come true and some nightmares to keep me up staring at the ceiling....all from the boat, “Blue Heron”. I’ve updated many of the electrics in the boat, going with LEDs for all lights insid...

Re: ‘77 F26 HT going solar
Almost forgot....going back in a day or two to route and clean up the loose wires. We’re at a coop yacht club in upstate NY and it’s nice to get away from the reality of Covid19 for a while. Our members are all pretty good about wearing masks when necessary and we’ve been very careful about indoor u...

Re: ‘77 F26 HT going solar
I left the boat two days ago, after the install, with power only from the solar panels. Shore power turned off. Today I went back to redo some grounding wires and take a look at what was what. Victron Connect is a Bluetooth enabled app that can be used via iPhone or android, and shows you solar and ...

Re: 1979 trojan f26
I’ve got a ‘77 F26 HT with the original Chrysler 318 and it has a raw water inlet on the port side of the engine room floor and the pump on the port side of the engine. Should be able to do the same with the Crusader.

‘77 F26 HT going solar
It’ been over 20 years since I bought our F26 HT and I’ve always thought the hardtop would be a perfect place for solar panels. Problem was other priorities (job, kids, etc etc) and cost of solar. Things change (retirement, kids off and married, etc, etc) and solar costs have come way down. During t...

Solar panels on F26 Hardtop
Been spending these winter days in upstate NY thinking about adding 2 100 W solar panels to my hardtop along with proper sized charge controller to keep battery banks charged while away from the dock. Any thoughts or experience out there to share?

Re: Help me please
Had same problem with my ‘77 F26 HT I bought in 1999. Original fuel tank was galvanized steel and previous owners kept on limiting the amount of gas in the tank by repeatedly only keeping the tank partially filled. Over time condensation started corrosion on the inside of the tank and that crud kept...

Re: F26 Cockpit Windows
Finally got around to seeing these replies. Yes, my 1977 F26 HT has the sliders and knobs on both sides of each window, but accessing these requires leaning over the dash & cabin bulkhead in front of them. No problem when I was 50+ and "strong like bool" but now at 70+ it requires me t...

Re: Few questions. Setting carbs / New windows
Just a thought about your gas tanks. Are they original galvanized metal or have they been updated to plastic, FG or aluminum. My 77 F26 had fuel issues that sound a lot like yours, but I'm only running one engine, the Chrysler 318 with Rochester 4bbl carb. Turns out the original galvanized tank (70 ...
