Bob, Well, you're right. The stuff is still there on our boats all these years later. Trojan was indeed ahead of their time with these great hulls and teak joinery. Witness the interior of any Chris Craft from the same era. No comparison. Never had any delamination on my Tricabin thank goodness, but...

Bob, Big D and K9th, I finally bit the bullet this afternoon and went up to the marina and hauled the engine covers off and dragged them out onto the dock. Lo and behold, my heat insulation material was screw nailed on and not glued like I had somehow managed to assume. I simply unscrewed the stuff ...

Big D My heat resistant material is brown. I sure in heck hope it's not asbestos. I don't think it is. Asbestos will be grey and will flake off. Don't even try to remove it if you're not certain what it is. A unique characteristic of asbestos is that it easily breaks down from its visible form into ...

Bob, I'm embarrassed to admit that my '72 Tri Cabin still has that same damn stuff attached to the engine covers. I plan on replacing it but haven't gotten around to it yet. Perhaps your post will get me started. One thing I particularly don't like about that stuff is how close it sits to the carb a...

People fall On Boats. Be Careful Out There

Well, it never rains but it pours. My wife and I decided to spend the week-end on the boat and arrived on Friday late evening in the pouring rain. She climbed the three fiberglass steps you see pictured here in the photo on the left and then as she stepped across onto the boat she slipped and went f...

Like K9th, I am using vertical, portable domestic units in my Tri-Cabin. I just got plain sick of the problems I was having with marine units. I vent the hot air out through the side "air intake" vents. (I know some here will react to my using up the air intake) My 10,000 Btu salon unit is...

Michael, may I inquire as to what insurance firm you are using at this time? I need to make some changes with regard to my insurance. Obviously, I am in Ontario like yourself. Thanks.

Hi Guys,

So I take it that you didn't re-install new teak flooring?

Could you possible post a photo of what the new rear sole looks like, when you get time?

Thanks,

Rick

You have my sympathy. Ribs are so very painful, no comfortable position and they hurt every time you breathe. 5 weeks. Hang in there.

Perhaps these two additional photos offer an improved angle. In regard to electrical outlets. I put in one dedicated electrical outlet on the wall behind the fridge for the fridge, fully accessible from under the sink. Secondly, I installed another outlet for appliances on the new countertop (the on...
