Re: New Trojan owner--need lots of help

Appreciate the information. Now I can begin to sort out the waste system. Can I get the manuals for the systems from their makers?? I had a survey done, but compared to my four other boat surveyors, this surveyor was a disaster. But that is a whole other discussion. So, I had to ask him to do things...

Re add the trim tabs or not???

1986 10 meter express, no mid cabin, but with twin 300 hp Cummins. Boat trim tabs were removed some years ago. New boat to us. Comes up out of the water and runs pretty good. Our first three hour trip bringing it home--22 knots at 2400 rpm. BUT the bow seems to be a little higher than the other boat...

Re: New Trojan owner--need lots of help

True express. No mid cabin. I have made another post talking about the waste and water systems with questions that if answered would help me understand them. Naver had a boat with Vac flush. It also has a macerator so not sure how they are all tied together. Is macerator typically in line with the v...

Re: Winter project list

Is the "portable" a/c one you set on the deck and run the exhaust hose out a window or is it something more permanent like a window unit or ??? Interested since I would like to AC the helm area on our boat. Thinking an RV unit on the roof. 10 meter express with arch removed etc. Picture at...

Help with boat systems

Need some help with the non-drive train systems on a 1986 Trojan 10 meter express. Lets start with the toilet system. On the 6 previous boats, including the Californian 34LRC never encountered a vacuum flush system. Reading about them indicates they may or may not have macerator and a Y valves for d...

Re: What am I seeing?

Also believe holding tank is full. When you flush toilet, by pushing down on the side lever, there is water right up to the trap door at the bottom of the toilet bowl and nothing happens. Like a vac, flush. Is it possible tank not full, just vac. flush not working and water trapped accordingly??

Re: What am I seeing?

Does the vac flush dump overboard or into a holding tank. I believe the tank along the center line is a holding tank. Attached picture. Motor on top is disconnected. One large hose and one smaller 100_2882.JPG connect. Is one from toilet and the other from shower etc?? Or is one of them the pump out...

What am I seeing?

New boat to me. I have ordered the manual for it. 1986 Trojan 10 meter express. But until I get it would appreciate some help. The attached picture is the area forward of the starboard engine. On the far side is a large white tube like structure, something like a muffler, but I am sure it isn't a mu...

Re: New Trojan owner--need lots of help

Went ahead an ordered one. Should help with most systems on the boat, excluding the engines etc. Last boat was a Californian 34LRC and found that pretty easy to figure out, but on this boat everything is hidden. Water and waste system is a challenge and 12 volt system is much complicated compared to...

Re: Windlass for 10 meter

Great information. Very nice job. Had hoped they had a standard windlass configuration for the boat, but guess not. As I understand the situation will have to improvise to add a windlass. Thanks.

New Trojan owner--need lots of help

Bought a 1986 Trojan 10 Meter express last week. Twin 300 Cummins. No books and the owner was met just once. His mechanic showed the boat as a favor to the owner. Consequently didn't get any kind of check out of systems or how they work. Only used for fishing, A pump under the deck in front of the t...

go to UShip and get bids. You will have to prepare it or have the marina do it. If it is Flybridge height is a problem. Look into taking the bridge down. I have had two boats moved and we had to take bridge down and was able to store them on the bow of the boat. They have trailers that will haul the...

cored hull and trojan boats.

RWS--let me tell you my story. I have a Stamas 32 SF sitting at my barn on a triple axle trailer that i bought in the fall for $8500--including the 2006 alum. trailer with brakes on two axles. My intentions to take out the running 454 Crusader 350HP engines and put in 6bta Cummins--but no running ta...

cored hull

RWS--Glad to hear your vote of conficence in the cored hull. The 11 meter has a lot to offer for us. With the delta conic hull there is a chance could be driven from a lower helm. Like I said, one with cummins in it would get my attention, but if I have to settle for Cats. I will probably continue l...
