I like how you unshrouded the window -- and thanks for posting here so others can take advantage of your idea!

Re: ACT Paint color

We went 3 years this time, and 2 years the first time with PCA Gold. Just before the beginning of the 3 years, I applied a roller-width coat at the water line and then one complete coat over the whole bottom. After staying in for three summers and two winters, I was quite impressed. It might have he...

Re: ACT Paint color

PCA Gold is currently on sale for $189 -- not the best price I have ever seen, but maybe for this year? Not wanting to risk paying full price, I caved and bought a gallon.

The price is good through 3/8/21.

Re: emergency power

I would up grade that solenoid , ground is a poor set up . It has already been cleaned up partially, but there will be some more done when I replace all the wires to the batteries and add some terminal blocks and fuses. While the original wiring is mostly intact, the wiring for added devices is pre...

Re: emergency power

Interesting! My solenoid is not in a box -- it is on a plywood board right in front of the batteries. Here is an old photo from before we bought the boat. The solenoid is to the right of the battery switch on the rusty bracket.

Re: cleaning edlebrock carbs

There are some carburetor cleaning solutions that come in a 5 gallon bucket with a colander-like tray for parts that you dip into the solution. The one I have will definitely get aluminum looking bright and shiny. You have to be really careful what you put in there -- it will destroy gaskets and sea...

Re: Why is Horn switch 12v- on 10mtr

Not having the schematics, I am guessing the high water alarm activates by completing a circuit to 12V ground. If that is the case, the horn switch would also be wired that way.

Re: Help with Water Tank access on 1980 F30 Sport Cruiser

I don't put antifreeze in either my water tanks or my water heater. I bypass the heater and drain it through the cold water fill line at the bottom of the heater. I also run the house water pump until the tanks are dry and then disconnect the pump from the tanks. Using compressed air, I blow out all...

Re: 10 meter Express New Dash/Console Project

An oscillating tool might work if the access is good. There are some release agents available that might also help.

Re: Lithium House Bank Batteries

Thanks, the reason I asked is that I was told you can't charge two batteries off one alternator, because if only one battery is discharged and one full the alternator/voltage regulator is charging both and you need a split charging system. You can do this using an ACR: https://www.bluesea.com/suppo...
