Re: Total Advance for Chrysler 440s
I have never been able to find a service manual for the 330 HP Chrysler Marine 440 cu in engine. The manual I have been working with is for the 300 HP version and has the following ignition information: 440-300 Ignition Specs.jpg Interestingly, MarineEngine.com sells this manual as the correct one ...

Re: 12 meter mystery tank
But it appears this is UNUSED on the 12 meter motor yacht, as we have an aluminum cylindrical tank (right beside the water heater and under the dinette set) that I have verified is the one we are filling when we fill the water inlet. This seems like aftermarket to me. You picture looks exactly like...

Cool, watch the fuses as some cannot be used in a gasoline engine compartment, tough to comply with, I believe blue seas may have something for that now.

Re: Moving the engine seacocks
I totally agree with the guys, there is a reason those are located where they are. If you change that there could be consequences like aerating props etc, who knows. Maybe just reconfigure the strainer location to give you some better access while in a hurry if that is possible. Any underwater fitti...

Re: '82 Tri-Cabin Bow Pulpit advice.
Put a Good Automatic Windlass bow roller and windlass on ours, no pulpit needed, worked like a charm. Check em out. That what I used to have , Photo so the OP know what we are talking about Yup thats it, to add it keeps the boat length ( loa) the same as well. Thanks for posting the pic Paul. They r...

Re: Updating Electrical System on 1976 F32
Nice drawing, heh If you are going with all new cable/wiring here there are two things that come to mind, don't combine grounds, like from your inverter and house bank to the bus. The other is why did you pick the 40 amp charger, this is one place where bigger is much better when considering recharg...

Just a thought, while you guys have it open have you considered replacing the exhaust hose, it looks pretty old.

That is definitely wrong. Both sides from the risers go together and then down all the way to the transom. Probably fell down like you said.

Re: F32 V-berth door removal
On our 78, the door was hinged on the port side and opened out with clasp on the head wall. Now the other side had an enclosed cabinet. So the point of this is the door frame, when they replaced the stringers, they missed the height of the door frame, as it was altered a bit too short, maybe 1/4 &qu...

Re: Cappy's f32 rehab
I used a sawzall and cut between the wood and tank. once the heads were cut off the tank just lifted out. I used goof off to clean off the goop that was in between the wood and tank. Then went to HD and got 3/4 pvc board. Calked and evenly spaced the SS screws. The tank is back in the boat now Just...

Re: Battery configuration
Had a quick look at your drawing, seems you have 5 batteries, three of which appear to be one bank.If that is so try to make the bank so that you pull power from one side and the ground from the other, that may even out the discharge cycle.Treat that bank as one large battery, I don't think you need...
