Re: INSTANT FUN REPOWER IN PROGRESS
Electrical panel complete. Dropped in the first engine and it fit like a glove. No modifications necessary. WOO-HOO!

Re: INSTANT FUN REPOWER IN PROGRESS
Lower complete.jpg It's Plexiglas. I went to a fabric store and picked a fabric that was close to the interior wood finish, then sanded 1/4" Plexiglas with 100 grit, then stuck the fabric to the Plexiglas with polyester resin. Makes a cool effect.

Re: INSTANT FUN REPOWER IN PROGRESS
Lower helm is done and wiring harnesses installed. New 12V wiring in the engine room, then start fitting the engines. Like Lorena Bobbit said, "It won't be long now".

Re: rotted stringers
Is the rotted stringer issue limited to the F36? I don't recall seeing posts about rotted stringers in F32's, though I could have easily missed them.

Re: INSTANT FUN REPOWER IN PROGRESS
It is indeed a two tank, two engine diesel system, hence the return lines. The manifolds allow running either or both engines on either tank, and you can transfer fuel from one tank to the other if needed. The make is DIY. It does take some figuring to assemble. My supply lines are 3/8" from th...

Re: Raw water cooling riser question
I had a similar problem. Turned out to be carbon buildup in the riser blocking free low of water. I had to remove exhaust hoses from the risers and dig and scrape around up inside the output end of the riser to remove the carbon buildup. Worked for me. Good luck. BTW, I did lots of low speed trollin...

To Switch or Not to Switch - That is the Question
Hey guys, I'm at the engine/battery electrical wiring stage of the re-power. Existing wiring from 1977 connects battery to starter directly (not switched). Polling other boaters reveals about 60/40 in favor of this 'not switched' configuration. One marine electrical guy says switched is 'code'. What...

Installed in '04. No problems.

Re: Dual Helm Ignition question
OK thought my lower helm had two toggles per engine, but apparently only one per engine. The other toggle next to the engine start/stop is for something else. So I guess its ok, but one thing I noticed. It works much like everyone described here, however if I start my engines from my lower station ...

Re: INSTANT FUN REPOWER IN PROGRESS
Weather is slowing me down too. I have the fuel tanks and exhaust ready to go back in, but did'nt quite get them in yesterday. The MLVB I used is just the 1/8" vynil only (sold in a 54" x 60' roll), so not much heat insulation, if any. You would need to use the product that includes the fo...
