Re: Fuel crossover

And some of us have Navico EP-10 sensors sitting on a shelf that would do a lot more good installed on the boat!

Have you checked with Bob Cushman from Beacon Marine? His phone is 609-713-4602 and he is a great help to the Trojan community!

Re: Fuel crossover

Mine is closed for two reasons:

1) I know for sure how much fuel is being used by each engine.
2) If something gets into one tank, the other is still OK.

If #2 happens, I like to be able to get home!

Usually, people here are careful to use MPH for miles per hour and Knots for nautical miles per hour. Not always though, so good to ask...

Re: twin power cords tripping gfi

Great minds think alike, as I have a couple of the breakout cables P-dogg mentioned. To see what they look like (I don't have a photo of mine and they are at the boat), go to https://gilwellbear.wordpress.com/category/boat-technical-topics/electrical-topics/boat-ac-topics/ac-safety-tests-for-boats/ ...

Re: Gelcoat - EVERCOAT One step Premium Gel Kote

I typically fill smaller holes (less than 1/4") with fairing compound, medium size holes with glass fibers torn from mat and larger holes with 1708 and chopped strand mat using 5:1 epoxy. The sides of the holes are tapered 12:1 if I am using cloth, less if using just fibers mixed into the resin...

Re: twin power cords tripping gfi

That's a really bad idea! I do not believe you can legally replace the dock breakers with ones without GFCI. Even worse, it would be dangerous for anyone who was in the water near the dock due to electroshock drowning. I suspect the marina would be quite upset if they found out you had done that. If...

Re: twin power cords tripping gfi

The GFCI only looks at the current going through the line and neutral wires, not the safety ground (green wire). I don't think the ground has anything to do with it unless plugging in the second cable is causing some of the current that should go through the neutral to return on one or both of the g...

Re: twin power cords tripping gfi

Ramblin, I can't read the fine print on the schematic you posted. If there is any way to get a clearer copy, that would be great! Also a photo of your AC panel if you have it. El L Sea, if you have a single power cord, having all the neutrals tied together is correct. If you have two cords, you cann...

Re: TOTAL BOAT products

Too funny!

I have used the 5:1 epoxy, Total Fair and the Dewaxer and Surface Prep. All have been as advertised and I am completely satisfied and especially like the free shipping of hazardous materials.

I also have some of their Danish Teak Sealer and THIXIO but have not used them yet.
