Re: Moving from Fresh to Salt
I didn't think the summers in Houston were any worse than in Washington, DC, but they sure lasted a couple of months longer!

Re: Moving from Fresh to Salt
I remember going to college in Houston after growing up in Virginia. I couldn't understand why everyone was wearing down coats when I was running around in shorts and bare feet.
I am pretty sure the adjustment will work out well for you!

Re: List For Santa
A lot of Trojans on the Chesapeake. I know there is a Rhode River Marina up in that bay. I had once been interested in a Chris located at a marina in the Kent Narrows. Have a great Christmas. Maybe you'll get a surprise boating gift under the tree after all. Rick Thanks Rick! Our slip is quite near...

Re: Moving from Fresh to Salt
I've been looking at the Lowrance EP-60R for some time. I really could not justify the cost until now. My port motor burns a little more fuel than the other; so even if I get one, I can put it on the port motor. You may want to wait until spring to buy the EP-60R as Lowrance is in the process of up...

Re: List For Santa
We just got our F36 last spring and I have spent a ton of money on repairs and upgrades. This year, I am keeping my head low and not mentioning boating at Xmas!!! I did get a bit of a Christmas present last week when winterizing. I spent the night on the boat before hauling it and discovered that bo...

Re: Winter Tarp Questions
LandVF36, if I am understanding you correctly, you have three different A-frames, but if you look from the side, the ridgepole looks like a single 2x4 with no bends.

Re: Winter Tarp Questions
K4282, some of the reasons I prefer a tarp are specific to my marina, which is a small, family owned one. The owner is a great guy, but I feel that it would not be fair to him to shrink wrap my own boat when he provides the same service, especially since he runs a full service shop and I already do ...

Winter Tarp Questions
On our previous boat, we had a Fisher canvas cover that worked great. Due to weight and cost constraints, we are not going to use a canvas cover on the Trojan. After some thought, I have decided to go with a tarp for winter storage. We are in the Mid Chesapeake area and I do not want to shrink wrap ...

Re: Sherwood G-7 Raw Water Pump
I have had good luck finding impeller pieces by back flushing the system with a nylon stocking on the end where the water comes out. If you match up the pieces, you can decide if there are any missing, in which case you need to take it apart to find them.
