Re: Engine Starts and Immediately Stalls
I have the same issue. One thing I did notice though is that if the neutral switch is active, the engines will not turn over. My engines do turn over but depending on where I try to start the engines, they keep running or die. Currently, what I do is: turn the power ON in the lower helm then go to t...

Re: anti-siphon valve foibles
Hi Larryeddington, I was looking into replacing my fuel valves as well. I have found that Anderson Brass Company has a good selection of marine fuel valves. their M670 series shutoff valves are UL Approved for Marine usage. These are the ones I am going to use. I should be ordering them in a few wee...

Re: Oil Types for 280 gas engines
Thanks for all the advice guys.
I will go with Rotella T for the engines and straight W30 for the V-Drives. As far as the Tranny fluid is concerned, What type of ATF oil are you guys using? Type 3, Type 4, Type 5...?
Thanks again for the support on this most mundane question...

Thanks for the info guys.
@Prowlersfish and others,
The Shell Rotella you use, is it the "T" or "T5"? The T5 is synthetic.
Cheers,
Christian

Hi Barrie,
Wow! Fantastic progress. If I had known that with a "little" elbow grease she would look this good, I would have bought her ...
That fuel tank sure looks clean. How did you manage that?

Re: Oil Types for 280 gas engines
Hi rickland35,
I'm currently at the Rideau Ferry Marina. At this time the boat is known as Confusion. I plan to rename her Ad Hoc to keep the spirit of Confusion alive, also like the fish Haddock and the Captain in Tin-Tin...

Oil Types for 280 gas engines
Hi guys, I'm so close to putting the boat in the water for my first season. I just can't wait! I'm at the stage where I have to change fluids in the drivelines. 8) What oils are you guys using for the Engines, V-Drives and Transmissions? From what I can see, I can put 10W30 in the engines and V-Driv...

Re: Stuffing Box Packing
Hi Prowlerfish,
Does the list of sizes you kindly posted apply for the rudder stuffing as well?
Cheers,
CB
