Re: decals on ebay

IMHO those stickers are garbage anyway. The fact that it's an artist's rendition of the actual logo and the fake shadow effect, cheese. If someone got within 20 feet of your boat they'd know it was a cheap bumper sticker. And you can forget about any promises of longevity especially if your boat is ...

transom angle

Does anyone know the transom angle on the 1976 F30 Express, or do I have to go dig up my plumb bob?

Ahoy freddy. How did you solve the drain plug issue?. I have the same problem with my F-26. Did you contact Bob at Beacon marine?. Looks like we live in the same area. Good luck. I have decided to go with a new bronze through-hull and matching seacock, with a raw water washdown/baitwell pump. I cam...

they don't make it for hulls as thick as mine. I was just at beckman's marine(they've been around forever) in new bedford and this was the closest they could get me, using three different catalogs.
My hull is at least an inch thick maybe 1 and a half inches back there.

through-hull drain plug replacement

So the rear drain plug in my 1976 F30 was frozen solid. the plug wouldn't come out of the through hull and the through-hull was also frozen in place. I slipped a hacksaw blade between the hull and outside of through-hull, and simply cut it out. I have been unable to find an identical replacement. I ...

thanks everyone for clearing that up for the(relatively) new guy. so i am assuming that paypal takes my name and address from you and that's all they need. I've only used them through ebay so I figured ebay was the only way they could recognize me. I'll send my info right now and keep an eye out for...

I sent Gettaway a PM yesterday, it was resieved but I recieved no response. It looks like these are going fast. The post asks people to give their name and address, but doesn't describe how the buyer can send the payment to Gettaway. I don't just give my name and address out to people I don't know. ...

The job looks great. Sometimes it really is the stuff you can't see after it's all said and done that give you a real sense of security because you know you did it right and can put it to bed and move on. A good tip to keep in mind is to periodically put a little bleach down the shower drain and ru...

hey guys thanks for all the input/compliments. I'm not even going to address the argument I inadvertently started. I will however say this: I did this project because I couldn't stand how filthy the bilge was. I wanted to get rid of dirt and odor. Protecting the fiberglass and wood down there didn't...

cleaned /painted bilge pictures

when I removed the cabin floor(screwed down plywood with carpet cut to fit on top) a filthy mess was uncovered. I washed the bilge repeatedly with simple green and hot water. Then after letting it dry for a week or so, I applied two coats of bluewater marine alkyd 50 super white. before http://i212....

how much fuel was left in the tanks over the winter? did you add fuel stabilizer? when i worked at a boatyard i saw this exact thing happen again and again after the e10 gasoline came out. be a shame to rebuild that carb just to gunk it up again.

I have put alot of thought into this subject. I purchased and repowered my single screw F30 express last fall and have not launched yet. My solution was to buy a Floscan. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Flo-Scan-7000-20B-1-Multifunction-Meter-For-Single-Engines&i=...

just looked at the boat. two on the prop shaft, one on the rudder and zero on the trim tabs. trim tabs are painted with bottom paint and where the paint chipped off it looks like aluminum or polished stainless. there are also no sign of anodes ever being on the trim tabs. The boat will be in salt wa...
