Garmin AP install on mid cabin or Hynautic in general?

I started my AP install last year and have everything mounted and the electrical done. Now I need to do all the hydraulic connections and tackling that now while the boat is on the hard. Has anyone done this on a mid cabin? Or, with Hhynautic steering in general? My first question is on the return l...

Re: 1988 10M mid-cabin, forward berth bed disassembly

Once you remove the mattress, all of those plywood/laminate panels unscrew from the top and lift off. Easy access to the tank at that point.

Just re-read your post. Do you mean “full access” like remove the tank or just access to the top?

Re: 89 mid cabin fuel consumption

I know you ruled out choke but for reference, I manually disabled mine and I'm in the northeast. I never noticed any difference in cold starting. My Q-jets were tuned perfectly though so maybe that wouldn't be an option for you right now. I have years of video on my mid cabin showing the flo-scan da...

Re: 1988 10M Mid-cabin Horn Relay

Yes, the relays are in the mid cabin berth locker (I hinged that panel BTW and added a handle so it’s now a door).

One relay is for the horn and I believe the second is for the
windshield washer sprayers. I don’t recall which is which but the wiring diagram is clearly marked.

Re: 1988 10M Mid Cabin Propeller Size

Forgot, model 340 is the correct designation for a mid cabin. That’s not widely known, the important thing you need to know is 10m Mid Cabin vs 10m Express (totally different model in several areas but same hull).

Re: 1988 10M Mid Cabin Propeller Size

I have the same year mid cabin and it came with 1:52:1 VD transmissions. I have a video on YouTube when I first swapped the factory 3 blades over to 4 blades. The four blades are a little smoother AND I wanted an extra set on board so it was an easy decision. https://youtu.be/qcC2b_NSFIw I’ve since ...

Same here, I was not a fan of the windshield grounding setup. When I need the wiper to work, that means I really need it.

Re: 89 mid cabin reimagined

Damn, once a few other guys dropped out I thought I was winning the mid cabin Olympics! That looks really nice. My wife would never give up the door but it really opens it up. I would do it in a second, I just need to get divorced first.

Game on, you motivated me for the winter now!

Re: 10 meter mid cabin fuel starve

ah, just seeing this now. I think the issue with relocating it would be, it would only protect everything BEFORE the valve so not the rest of the line going back up to the tank. I went through this when I first got mine, I think I cleaned the anti-siphon valves 2-3 times and never an issue since (12...

Re: Fresh Water Pump

Correct, they are Airpax breakers. I assume it's not tripped? I would remove the panel and supply 12v at the switch wires and see what happens. Then you can rule in/out the breaker switch. Yes, I haven't had any go bad myself but some people have.

Re: 10m mid cabin - Crusader 8.1's initial impression

While I'm on here, I figured I would update this thread for maybe the final time. I don't see a whole lot changing now that I have about 60 hours on the 8.1's. Good news, I think the compression has increased a little as they have broken in, I would say that my average cruise speed has crept up now,...

Re: 10M Express what is the best prop?

I made this mistake when I repowered, put the props on the wrong sides. I could have left them because the ZF transmissions can run full power in either direction. Ideally, you want the props spinning away from each other towards the outsides of the hull. Very easy to get confused when you're dealin...

Re: 89 mid cabin battery wiring

I went through the same process on my mid cabin but left the start battery/house setup as is but upgraded to group size to 31’s (they fit fine) and use dual purpose batteries to handle the house loads. The biggest draw is my cabin fridge so I installed a switch to share the load between the two batt...

Re: 10.8M International Shore Power Question

On the factory setup, there is the "1/2/Both" switch. Do you have that in the correct position? When I re-did my panel, I got rid of that switch because I exclusively use a single 30amp splitter like you. If for some crazy reason I needed to isolate one side, I'll just unplug on end of the...
