You don't have to give it throttle to steer and you can kick in and out of gear save the throttle un till you get more use to it or when you realy need it . take it slow and all will go smoth , unless of course there is a crowd on the dock . then everything goes wrong

Have not seen sail boats push out ( ones in slips tend to have engines around here) But we do have ! thats will not motor in to his slip .He will motor up to his slip then pull him self in . Don't ask cuze I don't know :?

Most windlass ( every one I have seen) Have relays But they are at the windlass . to run the full power thru a switch is asking alot and you would need a large switch . After looking at the power winch site I find the do not call for a relay . I sure would use one .Even though they (power winch) do ...

Slip . mooring is rare around here and I don't think I could sleep leaveing leaving my boat on a Mooring ball

On the other hand If you pulling the impler anyway why not replace it they are cheap. Up here with our 1/2 yr season, two seasons use is not too much of a stretch. true . we have a sail boater that pulls it every year and gets 5-6 years out of them it takes him hours to do it if I would spend hours...
