Re: 1972 F-36 port motor problems

Unless I missed it, what kind of carb you got and has your mechanic opened it up again to check for debris.

Re: PROP SIZE

Seems you have a unique combo there.A good prop shop should be able to put you in the ballpark with all the info you have ,hull type, weight, engine Hp and gear ratio......for what its worth the F32 version is about 5,000 lbs lighter, 4 feet shorter, but with the same engines as you have, comes with a...

Re: Am I under propped?

I can see them fine.....bunch of blue squares with question marks in em.....I always liked Bill, some real good out take videos, funny. So the new question, how fast at 1500 rpm or so....I was about 5.5 knt before going to 16x16 then 1500-1600 would produce about 7-7.5 knots.....still with the hull...

Re: Spark Plug Wires

Howdy, in the pre made wire sets I have used the ones for big block chev, they are longer than the mopar sets for those engines and easier to run away from hot things etc.Just be sure they fit your distributor cap.

Welcome aboard.

Re: Am I under propped?

Don't know if possible but could your diver just read the numbers off the props, that might tell the story for sure.I had 360's and was under propped at 14 pitch, repitched to 16x16 and all was well.

Re: 1983 f-32 AC placement

On our 78 the generator ( 6.5 kohler flat head four ) was length wise between the engines against the aft bulkhead and the ac was just on the other side of the same bulkhead aft mounted to the cover over the fresh water tank. There were two slaves ,one in the v berth and the other in the salon on the...

Re: Interesting Trojan Story

I've seen this story pop up multiple times over the years but have never had the courage to speak up about it. All I can say is it was very good legal team that won a judgement based on the 'design' of the aft air intakes. While I do agree the F32 design helped kill those folks, I do not believe it...

Re: 1972 F-36 Port Motor Problem

To give you an idea of how very small things can create a lot of the same thing you are describing, here is a little story. Years ago had an outboard that all of a sudden started the same sort of thing , it would run great for a while then act up, no particular pattern. We cleaned the carb, some crud ...

Re: A PNW Trojan!! ??

Regarding the engine size, if you go to look at the boat, check the casting numbers on the side of the block around the casting ( freeze ) plugs,it will be some numbers then 360 or 318 then some more numbers, that will tell you for sure. Now if those are fuel tanks, one is much larger than the other ...

Re: Digital Dash and automation on Trojan F36 tri-fly

A question, are the gauge readings that you see completely linear or is there and small error someplace? I seem to remember with instrumentation that we used ( old tech now) where there was a translation from air pressure to volts, it was not totally linear ( very ,very close though ).

Re: fuel flow sensor question

I put the Garmin gfs 10 system in our old f32, it worked great, very accurate above idle. The sensors are mounted between the fuel tree filter and the engine fuel pump and have to be mounted with an incline up from the filter. This is the suction side of the engine fuel pump with the incline putting ...

Re: Digital Dash and automation on Trojan F36 tri-fly

Good stuff here Baggins, on last boat I installed a data bus and some Garmin stuff, great to read things on one display,I love this but don't understand it at all, when I read a paragraph I get dizzy and have to lie down :P  Keep up the good work, looks like a great display, something I would lov...
