That's very nice work! It does look great! but IMO; overkill.
I do a main beam going 3' over the hard top, then another beam to the bow and another to the stern. I use nylon strapping from the main beam over to the rails. It's light weight and relatively easy to store and transport.

Re: Night Boating With An IR Camera And IR Flashlight
Not sure why you are trying to take or portray this out of context... CaptainChill was (jokingly) asking if there was a cheaper radar system. Why are you trying to make it look like it was me asking the question seriously? Do you just not know know how to copy/quote posts, or are you actually tryin...

Re: Replace Groco SV750 seacock on 76 F36
Yes, You will have to remove the through hull and re-bed it. Since you are going this far, you may as well replace all the parts you will be removing with new. There are various tools to unscrew the through hull from the seacock... http://m7.i.pbase.com/g3/84/622984/3/89237497.JbbgDb1j.jpg There hav...

Re: Oil change
+1 on the oil pump. I have two of those with the reversing motor, but I often to use old-skool hand pump oil fluid evacuator. Once I get that going, I change the filter. By the time i'm done with the filter, the oil is just about emptied. I prefer to fill the oil from the top.... I do my changes aft...

Welcome aboard! We would love to hear more about your projects, post them up! Regarding your switch to EFI... Not sure what the more experienced guys will say about the Chryslers, but an EFI conversion will entail new heads let alone all the ignition parts. You're looking at an entire top end rebuil...

Re: Teak Deck Refinish
Welcome aboard Captain Ron! I think most the the opinions will be either Cetol or Natural Oil (and re-oil, and re-oil, etc). I have also had a lot of luck with Helmsman. If you are doing any teak outside, I would recommend the Cetol for durability sake and if you want to save a few bucks, use the He...

Re: Moving from Fresh to Salt
I would not say it's been easy. On Monday I had to wear my wind breaker and roll up the windows on the way to work.
As I was rubbing it in to one of my friends back in Chicago, he said he would be checking up on me in the middle of August.

The props should turn outboard (CW for Starboard / CCW for Port if look at her from astern). Knowing that, perhaps you can trace yourself back?

Do what I do... If you are up to the challenge, offer to take the title in exchange for their headache. Yes, you will be asking him to give you the boat for free.Femmeboater wrote:What would be a fair offer in view of the work involved?

Re: Blinds leading the ... WINDOW COVERINGS?
^ I think those are the Chinese lantern shades that the OP was talking about.... I experienced this issue with my previous boat and I went with vinyl blinds. They were nice for a while but ended up being a magnet for dust and spider webs. On my F-32, I opted for a snap-on window wrap made out of sun...
