Re: F26 Completely rebuilt
Guess what y'all......
As compared to the NEW BOATS discussed by the OP, this boat owner has avoided the biggest expense of a new boat.
No, it's not fuel
not insurance
not interest expense, nor opportunity interest lost
not maintenance
it's
DEPRECIATION

Re: 89 mid cabin radar arch ground wire
i don't remember..... but many years ago I was having issues with the windshield wiper ground, so I ran a very heavy wire from the bonding system to the windshield frame as well as directly to each individual wiper motor To trace down your issue, if you remove the decorative panels under the radar a...

Re: 10M Express what is the best prop?
This situation is an unusual circumstance. FACT: This boat was originally equipped with small blocks. FACT: Everything from the gears back is not compatible/efficient to be run with the 454's horsepower or torque. suggest the following items be reviewed by John Leed: 1. put the correct 4 blade props...

if you were to compare your numbers to the chart I posted on page two, one might conclude you are significantly underpropped = less than efficient

Re: 10 Meter Express accessory power
There are likely numerous changes over the years from when Ron Pickle, (R.I.P.) originally did the factory wiring diagrams. Dunno how many amps you seek to use for the accessory. STRONGLY SUGGEST you procure the correct factory wiring diagram for your specific boat as identified by the hull number. ...

Re: inclinometer - correct way to measure running angle?
Have posted on this subject a couple times before, but I don't think you really need an inclinometer... Bring the boat up to a certain RPM (that is good planing speed), you can play with the tabs to find the best running angle. Don't mash the tabs, just tap them a half second or so at a time. Up or...

Re: Mid cabin 1988 repower
John Leed requested that I install a VACUUM BREAK when I did the repower.
He also provided the necessary exhaust items to make this work out with my existing system.
I took his advice.
BEST !

Re: inclinometer - correct way to measure running angle?
"I was thinking more along the lines of getting the bow DOWN to achieve the right angle vs bringing the stern UP (and between 4 blade props and my tabs, I think I'm out of options here regardless). Does bringing the bow DOWN move the aft UP or does it simply move the bow downward? " IMHO t...
