So on mine it looks like the front piece once held a screw but it doesnt now. Whats funny is the other carb is the same but fat idles perfect at 10k
Hope this shows what im seeing. That large flathead screw doesnt seem to do anything except hold those parts on.

Re: Engine issues
454 crusaders with quadrajets.
It was a bad resistor. Put another new one in fired right up.
Now the new problem is the fast idle set about 2500 RPMs. I don't see any kind of adjusting screw.

Engine issues
So I rebuilt carb, redid intake manifold, and engine started ran great. Went to take family out next day and no start just turns over. Fiddled a bit and figured it was a bad coil. Replaced coil and ballast resistor. Now it starts but only as long as your holding the switch in start - which I underst...

Mid cabin parts questions
So I'm wrapping up my boat got most things fixed and I'm running into a few parts I need to figure out. I searched about and had no luck. ---- Does anyone have dimensions for the aft seats? Especially the brackets. I figure I can fabricate some. The swim platform has a ladder and it is hitting the t...

Re: shine on a old boat
So the marina recomended I clean the boat with Toilet bowl cleaner. Mix it 1 bottle per gallon of water with a splash of dawn. Deck brush the whole boat and let it sit then runse. That cleans all the wax and oxidation off. Might need two applications, I didn't. Then go back with a polish. I use Nu-F...

Re: New to me Trojan 10 meter
Well close to 35 is a hope. I'm going to rebuild the other carb and see how it goes. Then tune them both. The rebuilt port motor idles high now. Then yes oil change new plugs and wires. If I can get a good 20 mph cruise speed I would be ecstatic. Props are 17x17 iirc spec is 16x17 I know when the po...

Re: New to me Trojan 10 meter

Should get what I need then. When I bought this boat top speed was 7mph. Then hull cleaned and got 13mph now 21. Factory spec ...

Re: New to me Trojan 10 meter
Well that didn't fix it. So I did the drop test. 2,3,5,8 all dead. Now i got spark on all 8 but when I pulled the plugs those where bone dry. Tried spraying carb cleaner in the carb and it only throttled up on one side. I'm thinking time to rebuild the carb. Boats back in the water and ran at 2x the...

Re: gel coat
I used marine tex on mine just the other day. I should have added a touch more color to it but its practically invisible. Can get the marine tex and colors at West Marine pretty inexpensive.
