Re: Salon Ceiling Material
That you tube was great. No holes required. Just Velcro.

Re: Salon Ceiling Material
Formica's on interesting idea. I think that stuff chips easy though especially drilling the mounting screw holes

Re: Salon Ceiling Material
It only gets more humid in a boat on the water. I will probably go with the hardboard, like you mention.

Salon Ceiling Material
I am installing new headliner in the salon of our 1973 tri cabin. There is also a hardboard material covered with headliner that is screwed to the ceiling in the area below the helm. I guess it's to service wiring and who knows what else is up there. So, I want to replace this hardboard, but i can't...

Re: Started Back Deck repair today
Great pics. I did what you are doing to the back deck and windows 6 years ago to my 73 tri cabin. I replaced the entire aft deck structure, aft cabin walls and deck. I took the windows apart (carefully) stripped the paint, powder coated them and had them reassembled. I used West Systems epoxy on the...

Re: MCCK Generator
Good point G36 about making sure someone doesn't get poked when the shore power is removed. I will be installing with a battery switch. I don't plan to leave it on all the time. Ice for drinks on the water will be a special occasion. Either way you have a good point about safety. thx

Re: MCCK Generator
Sounds more than enough battery for the job. I have a 1600 watt inverter, but never installed it. I was going to run an onboard ice machine off my house batteries. I plan to install a 110 receptacle with on of the outlets wired to the inverter and the other to the shore power. It's a simple installa...

Re: MCCK Generator
I thought I was buying an original replacement impeller. The Webb site I bought it from gave the part number as if it was like the original. Be careful if you do try to buy one to make sure it's not plastic. I think you have a good idea with the inverter. I think of what I would need if I was moored...

Re: MCCK Generator
Actually, after running it the year before last , I replaced all the hoes as well as the impeller and cleaned the choke mechanism so it moves freely. I never started it up last year, I guess because like you I don't have any use for it. I can tell you though when you try to start your it's likely th...

Re: ANTIFREEZE
I have trouble agreeing to that. I like to play it safe knowing that when the thermostats closed water mostly recirculates and doesn't go thru the block. There are 2 impellers on my pump. One for the engine block and one for the exhaust. With the thermostat closed the water recirculates and also goe...

Re: ANTIFREEZE
I have 400 Chryslers. I just winterized them on Sunday. A few years ago I added tee fitting with a plug just after my thru hull fitting. I attach a funnel and pour antifreeze while the engine is running at temperature. My boat draws raw water thru the engine (no heat exchangers). The engine needs to...

Re: Windshield Wiper Blade For F26
I have a 73 tri cabin and I removed the rubber extruded blade and found the same rubber blade at Auto zone. I think it was an Anco. I removed the new extruded rubber blade from the wiper itself and used sissors to cut it to the correct length. I then assembled it into the old blade housing. It took ...

Re: floor needs support
I have had portions of the headliner pulled back in the past and the deck is plywood. The teak may be planking laid on the plywood. It's not soft, it' has bowed over the years. The entire floor is bowed in (sagged). I was planning to use a car jack and push the floor up from inside the aft cabin usi...

Re: floor needs support
That's a great idea for soft deck repair and I plan to use it this winter to repair a soft deck around my anchor. The problem I need to fix is at the helm or rather the deck above the aft cabin. It's a teak deck. Most likely a plywood. The structure below which is the ceiling in the aft cabin needs ...

floor needs support
The upper deck floor on our 73 tri cabin has begun to sag to the point where I think I have to deal with it this winter. I thought there was a posting a few years ago about this issue, but when I search I can't find anything on this repair. Can anyone that has made this repair give me a few pointers?
