Re: 11Meter fuel tank sensor
On your particular tank, no. It usually is located in the center. If you can feel around and find the wire, it will be attached to your sensor and float. There should be a 2-3 inch disk with a bunch of screws around the edge. If you need to remove and replace, you will need significant space above t...

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
Depending on your compound, you may have a 2500 to 3000 grit comparison. If your compound is not cutting it, I would start with wetsanding with 1500, redo with 2000, and then try the compound again. It might save you some time. I like to throw a little dishwashing liquid in my pail of water. Let the...

Re: 11Meter fuel tank sensor
It should be right at the top of the tank. If you have a hard time gaining access, I know some have cut a hole in the deck above the tank and created an access point.

Use the wool for the compounds. The foam is good for the waxes.

Onan MCE help
I have ongoing issues with my Onan 6500 Ensign. I have water in my oil (or coolant...its milky white) even after 2 oil changes. It had been running fine, but suddenly started pouring out black smoke and running like crap. I was going to check the head gaskets, but I can't find any source for parts f...

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
Id rather not paint, that is for sure. Where did you get the polishing compunds/buffers/perfect fit? Im sure I can google it. I'm not afraid of the elbow grease, just dont want to use a lot of it with poor results. I'll do some shopping. Thanks for the info! Hope you are enjoying your boat! Best pl...

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
Depending on how faded you are, you might have to start with the 3m super duty compound, and then follow up with finesse it. The recommended procedure is to do 2 coats of Polish, and then 2-3 coats of wax. I recommend Collinite fleet paste wax. I think its 885. You cannot let it dry before removing,...

Re: Thinking Out Loud
I like the meter boats, a friend of mine recently purchased a 10 meter and I'm impressed with the wide beam. For me though, I'm hooked on the styling of F- series boats. They can be a little quirky in a following sea however I like the way they handle the water when things get a little nautical out...

Re: 85 10 meter international
My 1983 10 meter Crusader powered 454's had 13,280 hours when I re powered it .. They were still running fine just getting tired..It's all about how it was ran when not trolling and preventative maintenance. Holy crap. I've never seen that many hours on a Gasser. That would be good for a diesel. Wh...

Re: 85 10 meter international
Is it Mid Cabin or Express? Express have woodless stringers, whereas the mids have laminated wood. As good as the Crusader 454's are, you are nearing the end if their service life at 2400 hours. Where in NY is this boat? Is this in Sodus?

Re: Rattling Velvet Transmission Topic
Hard for me to believe it's that bad if you're running 22 knots at 3000 rpm without an issue. We have similar boats and I have never been close to that. I am at about 16-17 knots at 3000 with a clean bottom. On a side note, what are your prop #'s? I know you're running 502's, but I would have never ...

Onan 6.5 oil filter
Anyone know where I can find a source for oil filters for the onan 6.5 generator? Thanks!
