I have to agree with Gerry 100 percent. I repacked my starboard last summer, in the water, and now the port side is about ready. Just be sure to stagger the packing, about a third of the way around from the other, when you do it.

I ran into a problem, years ago, with a Cimmins diesel in a truck crane. After bleeding the injectors (they had run the engine out of fuel) it still wouldn't start. I followed the injectors return line down to the pump and this was were it was air bound. Loosened the line at the pump, followed by a ...

If you are missing the key then remove the lock assembly, from the door, and take it to a locksmith. I did this with a Chris Craft lock, awhile back, and he was able to make new keys.

First, I have to agree, if you can't read a chart then you should not be out there. Paul, right now I am working on my engines. Just had a call, this morning, that my distributors are rebuilt, so I will pick those up today. The weights were free but they were rusty, besides the fact you don't know w...

For anyone going to St. Michaels, please be sure to stick to the channel on the way in. I know a couple, last weekend, who ran aground and after two tries by the Boat US tow boat , who had to run down twice from Kent Narrows waiting for high tide, it cost over a thousand dollars for that grounding o...

Bill, Tubes are not flexible as they are a soild copper tube. The only way would be to cut an access hole, with a hole saw over the top of the tank at the fitting, and then install a deck plate. You would never be able to straighten the tube correctly to get it back in. Just my humble opinion. My de...

Bill,

My 73 doesn't have the anti-siphon valves either. It is an excellent idea to keep the fuel from flooding the bilge if the gas line were to break though.

The pick up tubes, on my 73 F-31, are just that. Tubes. No strainers, just plain straight tubes. I found the rear tank tube was scaled shut when I replaced my fuel tanks. I was only running on the front tank which feeds the starboard engine first. I could run about a mile and the port engine would s...

Will,

I sat right in the marina, with the wind howling the way it was, and watched the fireworks around Middle River. I have never seen so many fireworks, on that river, in my life. They were everywhere I looked.

Chrysler engines are prone to steam a little more than others if they are raw water cooled anyway. If you have Chryslers? There is a tube in each manifold with a slit opening. That slit, in the tube, should face to the front of the manifold. The idea is to remove any air trapped in the front of the ...

The Crusaders were complete engines, carbs, starters, alternators, etc. Eight grand a pop, drop in, hook up the wir...
