Re: 1972 36' Tri-Cabin
Hi, I owned a '74 Tricabin for sixteen years before selling and moving to a newer Trojan. Loved the tricabin. The model you are looking at if I remember correctly has wooden decks. They represent a lot more upkeep and potential issues. If I am incorrect and your decks are fibreglass then I stand cor...

Re: 1996 390 Express fuel selection
Hi, Well, that's a weird one. It would seem to me that if the valve we are looking at is operative - it is indicating that it is adjusted to send fuel from your starboard tank to your generator. Obviously, your engines are receiving fuel from "somewhere". When you trace your fuel lines bac...

Re: 1996 390 Express fuel selection
My Trojan Express is NOT a diesel. Mine has the 502 Bluewater engine option and was also upgraded to a 7.5 Westerbeke generator. The boat has two fuel valves. One for each gas tank. The valves are located on the bulkhead behind both engines. This bulkhead is accessed inside the cabin by removing the...

Re: 1996 390 Express fuel selection
Hi Guys,
Going up to the boat this pm (15 miles away). I will check and get back to you. I've never messed with the fuel lines so can't answer off the top of my head. Darn manual is at the boat so can't simply refer to it here at home.
Cheers
Rick

I own the same boat.
I'm assuming you don't have an original owners manual which contains complete diagrams.
Just let me know what you need and we'll figure out how I can get the info to you. Great boats.

Re: 36 tri-cabin fuel tanks
Rhino, I just wanted to add here that as you get this new-to-you boat straightened out, I believe you will really enjoy it. They are really rugged battleships and present the best of many boating worlds to their owners. A very sea-worthy and easily handled vessel plus a planing hull that is fast eno...

Re: 36 tri-cabin fuel tanks
Hi Rhino, Glad to try to help although, so far I haven't had many actual answers for you. Prowler's advice is very sound. The original invoice as related to your Trojan's serial number may give the people at Beacon some idea as to where that extra tank (long range fuel) may have come from. It sounds...

Re: 36 tri-cabin fuel tanks
Dear Rhino, Don't know what the second tank on the port side is for. I didn't have a second tank of the left side in my 1974 Tricabin. So just like you, that tank's a mystery to me. :) Next time your on your new boat, please remove the salon floor hatch to the bilge that you mentioned in your previo...

Re: Looking For Trojan 1992-2003 Express For Sale
Dear gusssd87, Sorry for the late reply, I just noticed your post last night. I'm sure you've checked out Yachtworld for a 370, 390 and 410 Trojan Express individually. There are five models listed there at the moment. But those may have been the examples you were referring to when you mentioned you...

Re: 36 tri-cabin fuel tanks
By the way, Rhino - In regard to the steps leading up from the rear bedroom to the salon, you can pull down the top step (it's riser is hinged) in order to get access to the starboard side gas tank level sensor. (You'll also notice the fresh water tank, I believe) On the port side, you can look unde...

Re: 36 tri-cabin fuel tanks
Hi Rhino, I owned a 1974 Tricabin for 16 years before buying my current Trojan. As you already know, the two gas tanks are located directly under the salon floor. The fresh water tank is almost invisible when you hop down into the bilge, especially if you have a genny located there as well. But havi...

Re: Aaron Bocknek -- 1960 to 2016
Hi Mary Ann and Chuck, Well, that was quite an anniversary present. So nice to hear that Aaron's boat is in the hands of those who will take care of it. I had wondered about that situation because you never know how these things are going to work out. With Trojans, we are all driving old boats. They...

Re: Bomb Cyclone
I think their plan was always to head up Delaware Bay to the C&D Canal. Then run down Chesapeake Bay to Norfolk. Long old haul but probably the way to do it. On the other side of the equation, Gary is somewhat unpredictable and could conceivably try to straight-line it for Norfolk on the outside.
