Re: tri cabin wiper motor grounding
When I said directly I meant with a ground wire somewhere . If you connect one side of your meter to the frame and the other to the battery negative or engine ground and show continuity then there is a ground wire somewhere that is still working, might save all the hunting.

Re: Battery system F-32
The one we had was strictly manual, only worked with the switch, perhaps it had been altered though. It did have an automatic generator start though, if you tried to draw any 120 vac power the generator would start on it's own to provide power. I disabled that quite quickly.

Re: tri cabin wiper motor grounding
Try to check if there is continuity between the frame and your battery negative directly, that will tell you at least if it is actually grounded or not and the quality of the ground if any.

Re: Battery system F-32
I had a 78 and each engine had it's own battery. The black box had a solenoid inside that joined both batteries together when you held the toggle switch on the lower helm dash. The switch was only on the lower helm if I remember right. Each engine has it's own battery after starting, we put an extra...

Re: 89 mid cabin bad valve lifter noise
Have your mechanic do a proper leak down test on #8, that will tell you what is leaking.

Re: 89 mid cabin oil pressure
I would check those readings with a known good mechanical gage on each engine first to double check what you are seeing, engines can have widely varying oil pressures due to build clearances, temps, age, there really is no hard and fast rule just a minimum pressure at idle.

Re: 318 freeze plug rusted through
Dorman makes an expandable rubber plug for repairs like this, I have used them when there is no extra room. Google dorman expandable freeze plug repair. There are u tube videos. But if you can swing a hammer enough to knock the new plug in, it will be better to replace properly with brass plugs. If ...

Re: Spring Project 154: Carburetor Upgrade
An issue I had was getting to match the angle of the inverted flare fittings, especially at the fuel pump....if you get it wrong it will leak....eventually I just used the old line that had the right angles , cut it and put the rubber marine fuel hose between with the inline filter in that section. ...

Re: 318 no oil pressure
Check the gear on the intermediate shaft...... seems to me there was a roll pin.....perhaps the pin is broken.

Re: Leaking Transmission
Sometimes if the shaft alignment is out it is possible to make the seal leak. Not saying this is the case, but someone has been doing something there judging by the new bolts. A quick check might rule that out.

Re: Displaying Engine Gauges on Chartplotter
Aha, it actually looks like something I could actually do maybe. Does this RS11 connect directly to the gage wiring with no interfaces then ?
That would be great considering all the drama ( extra boxes, data backbones etc.) with some other providers.

Re: Displaying Engine Gauges on Chartplotter
I have a question. How can you verify the accuracy of what you are seeing ? The reason I am asking is because you changed a value, how did you know what it would produce. With old instruments there was a voltage range/air pressure range etc.,you could test the linear accuracy, but this stuff baffles...

Try a little heat on the plate and a wire like a guitar string under the plate to cut the caulk, also some heavy fishing line.

Re: 12 Meter Exhaust Pipe Cracked
Can the cracks be covered if you slip a new hose on further ? If so just drill a small hole at the end of the cracks to stop them cracking further clean and fill with epoxy and then put the hose on to cover the repaired area.Just an idea.
