Dinghy ???
Trying to decide what type of floor to get in a dinghy. Thinking either slat floor or air floor (probably not a high pressure floor) Do the slat floor dinghys tow bad? Thoughts?

Re: Distributor / engine timing question?
Do you want a full 12V with no current limiting resistor going to the field on the alternator? I don't know the answer myself. The reason I ask is I did recently get re-acquainted with the charging system on my '73-CJ-5. Was not charging, found a broken wire to the field. Tell tale was "ALT&quo...

Re: Red Tube
Several years I was fogging the cylinders on my jet boat. Had the engine out on a storage cart for the winter. Had the plugs out and squirting away at each cylinder. Then I noticed the red tube I had been using wasn't on the can anymore. Hmmm wonder where that went.... yup into a cylinder. Fortunate...

There you go. Our F-32 was a only a couple harbors downstream from jhalb!jhalb wrote:I run blue coolant (-100) through my 350s. I figure if the river water gets in my side exaust it will mix and still be ok. I run pink in the rest of my systems.

Re: Wintering Mufflers and Seacock for in water storage
When we bought our F-32, it too sat in the water over the winter. Froze in like the rest of the boats in that area. Closed cooled as well. Winterized much as yours. Exhaust tips sat at or just below waterline too. Strainers were full of antifreeze but bottom section of seacocks sat with water. Ambie...

Re: Actual weight of an F32?
I asked when ours was hauled out this fall. Not sure of the accuracy though as I was a given a 1,000 lb range! Travel lift operator said between 17-18K. 220 gallons of fuel, no water. Merc 230's, Generator, two remote ac units. some gear aboard. Again not sure of the accuracy here.

Re: Winterizing idea/question
The idea was to save some antifreeze since I will end up removing the water pumps and taking them home. Therefore all coolers will be empty an all lines would be too. Engines will still have antifreeze in them as they always do. My thinking was just to keep from dumping all that pink antifreeze in t...

Re: Starboard Starter?
Make sure transmission is in neutral. Not making the neutral switch will not allow the starter solenoid to fire.

Re: Winterizing idea/question
It's common practice to simply pour the antifreeze in but one does in fact need to consider that there can be a risk of some getting into the engine through the exhaust side of the manifold under the right conditions. Personally the only time I winterize without actually running the engine is if th...
