Re: Finally launched Sheer Madness

We painted the transom last week due to the name change. The PO had the name in clear metal flake which burned the gel coat badly and it would not even sand out, so we painted it. Above the rubrail was painted just before we bought the boat. I will probably paint the hull sides next year since the t...

Re: Finally launched Sheer Madness

The Hardtotop isn't bad. It was about 1/5th the cost of the Atlantic Towers top. It is pretty stable and easy to install. It took 2 of us about one day to install it. It is made here in Michigan so I was able to pick it up and take it home on the roof of the Jeep. The AT hardtop cost about 1200 to g...

Re: ready to splash

It looks great. I know about the new head, etc. Did that last year. Good luck with your launch.

Re: Finally launched Sheer Madness

The hardtop over the cockpit is from Atlantic Towers. I put that on last year. The hardtop on the flybridge is from Hardtotop. I put it on this year. I am in the process of making the flybridge enclosure. Have most if it done, just a few more panels around the ladder and some final fitting and snaps...

Finally launched Sheer Madness

Been a long time coming, but we launched Sheer Madness today. We still have lots of work to do on it. We have most of the flybridge canvass done, still have to make the cockpit canvas. I need to install all of the electronics. Did a complete bottom job of 6 coats of 2000E and 2 coats of VC17. We put...

F32 salon sliding door tracks

Does anyone have a source for the small plastic piece that mounts on the bottom of the plywood sliding doors and guide the doors on the tracks on the port and starboard sides of the salon? Most of mine are broken and I would like to replace them. If I cannot find a source, I guess that I will try to...

Re: Trojan f26, bilge

Lots of discussions on the hollow keels on F32's are on the board. I am not familiar with the F26, but it probably is similar to the 32. Do a search on hollow keel and you should have lots of information to look at. It can contribute to some bad smells also.

Re: bottom paint

If soda did not work, then they probably need to use a more agressive media such as the walnuts or even sand. If it is that thick, you will probably never be able to do a stripping yourself. Is there anyone else that you could take the boat to?

Re: Radar Dome locations

Putting the dome on the front of the bridge coaming is not ideal. You do not want the dome located where the beam will hit your eyes or your groin if you want further children... Also, one of my boats had it mounted there and I had a blind spot to the rear of the boat. I mounted a mast on that boat ...

Re: F32 12V ground bar locations

I can not help with original photos since I have replaced both the 12 volt and the 120 volt panels. I am just getting ready to put the boat in the water and wanted to make sure that I picked up all the ground locations and had them all run to ground. We will see, so far as I can tell everything seem...

Re: My F32 Repower

Extreme Simple Green cleaned my bilge for painting. I did two passes and then it was ready to paint. This stuff is great. I used it on my motorhome and the bilt up crud from the diesel blowby just melted off without even scrubbing. They make it for cleaning aircraft.

F32 12V ground bar locations

I am redoing a lot of my DC wiring and would like to know if anyone knows where all of the ground bus bars are located. My wiring diagram shows one in the fuse panel, one by the connector blocks on the starboard side by the helm, one in the overhead panel and one by the instrument panel. I took the ...

Re: Crappy old toilet to new Compact Raritan and Holding Ta

The big reason that holding tanks stink is lack of fresh air getting into the tank. The vent line(s) from the holding tank should be as large and short as possible. If the vent hose has a dip in it and you get sewage in the line, it will be trapped and the vent will not function. Sewage can slosh in...
