Ours have a three blade but we do have diesels. They seem to do real good on our boat. I did wonder what a four blade prop would do on our boat. We really have great control of the boat with three.

This is interesting. I too was looking for a boat several years ago. A 1960 Richardson. I wanted to see if I could find a picture of the one mhy dad had. It was a great boat.

I hate to see anyone leave. I think all boaters have valuable information they can pass on to others.

I think that would be tricky on a large boat. The shafts would hit the wood and you would have to put some kind of bracing on the boat to hold it straight , like they do when you dry dock. I think that would be necessary.

I definately would make sure you have the right size packing and make sure you offset the seams. I have never done it in the water on our old boat. Our boat now has dripless shaft seals.

We have a Onan MDKD 8.0 generator in our boat. I am looking for a manual for it and the location of the zinc(s) on it. Any help would be great. I plan on moving the seat and looking for the zinc's sunday.

Sounds to me that you stripped the bolts and they came off or maybe the shaft was not clean eough for them to have a tight fit.

We had trouble with the tread coming off our fiberglass steps. I use gorilla glue on them a year ago and they have not moved. I just put a weight on the tread ot hold it while the glue set.

Interesting. I would have to consider what I want in a Marina and what I want to do with the boat. If the lake does not have a good facilities or the facilities I like then I would choose the other marina. Of course the distance to fishing and the cost of fuel should be considered. I think that should be a interesting project. I had a boat I was going to redo until I really looked at it. It really was shot.
