Gas tanks

I missed what year your f-36 is? Mine is a 1982 and the whole cockpit deck lifts up with just a few screws. I opened mine up, threw away the old, crappy generator and ALL four galvanized tanks. Because the back of the boat is now at least 1,500 pounds lighter, I had my welder build a 300 gallon, alu...

Lucky bugger

I've always wanted to do the great circle...even read the book about it. Problem is my wife and both work full time. So, we'd have to cruise in 3 day weekends flying back and forth. Ain't gonna happen until we retire I guess. So, we just keep doing the FL mini-loop. (from Ft Myers across the big dit...

I want one.

My F-36 needs a little brother...bet that center console is sweet. Any pics?? When I restored the first Wellcraft Airslot, I put a bracket on and the guy and Stainless Marine helped with the calculation. We were lengthening the back (less weight), but adding floatation (more weight)....etc. Also, I ...

bow heavy

When I repowered with more modern engines, removed the generator and replaced the galvanized tanks with an aluminum one, the boat lost at least 1000 lbs in the back and became bow heavy. It's good until the gas tank, now under the cockpit, is more than half empty. So, I need to add weight to the bac...

Thanks

Didn't think to try Hagerty...thanks. I guess a 1982 is getting old enough for a collector's insurance agency. Will advise for everyone's benefit what they quote me.

I always wanted one of them really vintage Trojans like a Sea Queen...like a little sister for my F-36.

patches

I have a couple work shirts ( like thin, mechanic shirts) from a charity event...thought it would be kinda funny to put my name on the front and the Trojan patch too. Like I'm a Trojan mechanic...because the truth is I am!! My email address for Paypal is (tcclark@comcast.net) If you can, just send m...

danged insurance

That's not that bad...with whom?? Boat US wants $2450/year (was 1200 last year) and my replacement value is at only 60K. In 20 years the insurance will have bought the boat...but this F-36 is such a tank, it might just last another 25. I guess livin' in FL I'll have to get used to it...even though w...

Insurance Bill Just Arrived -- whoa!

Looks like Boat U.S. doubled the cost of my insurance coverage this year. My 1982 F-36 will be about $2,500/year. Maybe I shouldn't have put that teak & holly sole in there and all the other expensive stuff. Nah...it's worth it. (Insured for $60k) Anyway, here's the interesting part. I called Ge...

Window Covers for F-36 (the cheapo way)

I have 3 separate window covers for my 3 big front windows. I'd much rather have one large piece (most common) that covers all three and a little around the corner. I see the snaps are already there from the last guy. But it's a really complicated measurement to figure out because of the way the mid...

Swap Trojans to Vacation in different areas??

The wife and I need a damn vacation! After completely renovating my 1982 F-36, we've been cruisin' a bit and love it. But wouldn't it be cool if we could cruise around somewhere (just long weekends and holidays) in the great lakes, Canada, Ozarks, New England, etc??? The thing is, I know every squar...

Removed Flybridge

During Hurricane Charley, a forty-some foot live oak landed right on my flybridge. I took the whole thing off and had it rebuilt. It's just connected on an F-36 with long screws all the way around the outside. Just unscrew it and slide it forward onto the bow for transport. Like everything with Troj...
