Volt meters can break.
An easy check is to apply 120VAC directly to the suspect meter terminals.

Re: Thru Hull SV valves ( check )
Wow! I just moved my boat from fresh to saltwater. Any idea when the last time a human laid eyes inside that valve?
I'm guessing a routine exercising of the valves to ensure they work in an emergency was not part of the oil-checking exercise.....

Re: Hello - F36 Tri-Cabin owners in specific
Best benefit is the Captain now has company during the cruise and isn't abandoned by all the passengers, who are enjoying the cruise from the lounge area on the bow. I find that this area provides a separate circulation area for guests. At a party, do you always want everyone in ur face all the tim...

Re: New Lithium House Bank
Recommended. My fridge is 120V only. Having an inverter means that I can keep the fridge cold while underway without running the generator. Also useful for coffee in the a.m. as noted, without waking others on the boat or in the anchorage.

Re: Replacing Frost Plugs
They really are casting plugs or in my link core plugs. But they may save you in cold weather. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_plug Prowlersfish also hates it when people call the flat plate above an outboard prop an "anticavitation plate." Back to your plug. How rusted is it? Is it le...

Re: Princess Range problem
Live on mine May to October and Florida for the winter. I did 4 months when covid hit. I'm (still) sheltering a young music major who can't live at home. She plays piano into her phone and sings all day. Not conducive to my telework. When the guvna announced at 11:00 a.m. that the only travel permi...

PSA: Check your battery paralleling solenoid
For 8 years I have been using deep cycle batteries as starting batteries on my Crusader 270s. I put in new batteries last year (in year 7 -- calling that a win, but maybe they would have lasted even longer -- read on), and again this year. WTH? I had previously checked that the battery paralleling s...

Dang it Prowlersfish, I was just going to offer my Princess cooktop for sale to him! Decided just this morning that galley update will include new cooktop, so as to be able to maximize countertop space. I'll be living aboard 5/7's of the time for as many months of the year as I can stand it starting...

Re: boat screens removel
I have an '85. They are certainly in there, but you are using the method that I have used successfully. Stick a flatblade screwdriver in the track and lift the screen frame if you need to.
