Hydraulic Lift
I posted a picture of my props in a different post but was asked about the hydraulics that are in the picture. I didn't want to go off topic from the props on that post, so I'm posting the requested pictures on this new post. The boat is a 1975, 44 FBMY that I bought last year from the original owne...

Re: Prop Replacement
Hi Doug
Rather than hijack the Prop thread, I'll start a new post for the hydraulic lift.

Re: Prop Replacement
Good to go. Very pretty.
Interesting.... the smaller nut is the prop nut, the larger nut is the jamb nut and goes on last.

Re: Teak Deck Refinish
The 3M 4000 is a fast cure too. Best of both worlds. Well, I can't say that I wasn't warned........ in spite of Cetol Marine Light claiming to be natural colour, my decks came out waaay orangier than I would have liked. In the picture, the port foredeck is sanded bare and all I wanted was a clear co...

Re: Prop Replacement
You mentioned a mid 70s Trojan 44. Does it look like this -------------------------------------------------->>>> in which case it is a 44 FBMY (fly bridge motor yacht). One afternoon, while I was down below, my friend took us off-channelling by mistake and found a log. I got through the rest of the ...

Re: Teak Deck Refinish
Hi Jimbo (et al) I picked up the 3M 4200 and was asked why I didn't use 3M 4000 which is much more UV resistant. Did the Google thing and found this conversation: http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/477198-3m-4000-vs-4200-a.html#b Now taking the 4200 back and buying 4000. Live and learn. Ron

Re: F44 (or any other Crusairs) A/C condensate leak
I just looked at this picture and...... below the main salon windows...... - the upper drain must be the vent for the generator fuel tank - the lower forward drain must be the galley sink - the little drain just above the waterline (just aft of the generator drain) must be the condensate drain Thank...

Re: F44 (or any other Crusairs) A/C condensate leak
Thank you Prowlersfish and P-Dogg (kind of an animal theme here). I'm glad to read that there actually is a condensate tray. Definitely no drain coming into the engine room. Just last week, I was wondering what all the smaller through-hull fittings were for. I had assumed they were abandoned from pr...

Re: Teak Deck Refinish
Catainmaniac..... thanks for those numbers (4200 & 5200)..... I had heard them before but didn't record them. I will apply 4200 before finishing the deck. I need 5200 for some other things. Thanks so much. LandVF36..... not sure if you read all 3 pages of this post, but I started out wanting to ...

F44 (or any other Crusairs) A/C condensate leak
Hi guys On the hottest stretch of days last August (with no rain), the carpet in my main salon gradually got soaked starting on the starboard side right beneath the A/C air outlet. This leads me to believe that there may be a condensate tray below the coils that is overflowing from perhaps a plugged...

Re: Teak Deck Refinish
Thanks for the pictures guys. The number of blue beer cups looks about right for this kind of work. I like the look of Dockedwages deck, although I expect mine will come out lighter (which I like as well). It looks high gloss which I was told not to do since it will be too slippery...... or is that ...

Re: Teak Deck Refinish
I must be the only Trojan owner with teak decks that has never refinished teak before. I'll post my progress in case anyone is interested because I haven't seen any pictures of refinishing teak that has black caulking strips. The thought of disturbing the black caulking had made me nervous. I didn't...

Re: Seeking shore connection wisdom
I assume that you are disconnecting from the existing inlets. But If you want to have the option to use either the existing or the new, you must put in an expensive rotary switch to choose which pair of inlets you want to use. I did this on my last boat and was very happy with the choice of inlets, ...
