Re: Flooring and cabinets

I almost pulled the trigger on a product called Amtico Teak and Holly. Maybe next year. I did get some samples and it is a vinyl prodcut that really looks like wood. Costs are about $10-14/sq ft. It is pricey but looks way better than the other vinyl teak and holly that I have seen. I think I will g...

I wish you luck with your adventure!!! You will find the people on this forum very knowledgeable and willing to help. Most have been living the lifestyle you are talking about for many years. One more thing for you to consider, the initial purchase price of the boat is not even relevant to your equa...

Re: Teak wood deck replacement?

Hi Barrie,

Are you planning to put drains and scuppers in or does the deck drain a different way? I have no experience with a Tri Cabin, so not sure what I don't know.

Re: 1978 Trojan F32 Bridge Dash conversion with new Gauges??

Not sure if they are, but those look like Delco guages, and keep in mind if you replace with modern gauges, you will need to replace the senders also. I had Delco on my 77 F-26 and learned that lesson when my temp sender went out. Bought the M/C replacement sender and it would not work with the Delc...

underwater lights

Anyone have recommendations for using through hull vs surface mounts? Looking to install on stern for fishing ( blue lights) and have no experience with them. Looking for anyone who has installed and used to weigh in longevity, expensive vs cheaper, etc

Thanks!!

Re: 1986 f 32 a/c where is compressor

86 should have aluminum fuel tanks, my 88 does.

My A/C is in the same place as described, cannot really get to it easily , as my genny is under the aft hatch.

Re: Crusader 454 needs priming to get it started

You may want to start with carbs. I had a similar issue on my Stbd 350 and it has been fine since I rebuilt the carbs. I would bet you can get fuel flowing if you tap the bowl, which likely loosens when you put fuel in carb. Could be the others also. Good luck

Re: Weak discharge with steam

You should be able to hold your hand on the elbow at idle for a long time, If you cannot, something is restricting flow ( Gasket, deposit, etc.),

It is simple and cheap enough to replace gaskets and see if that fixes it.

Good luck

Re: Prop Help: F27 Mercruiser 305

My F26 with a FB ran about 16-18 mph depending on load @ 3100 rpm's This was a 233 mercruiser ( 351 block) 1977 model year. I know I had one cyl that was about 5% behind the the other 7, and I had 4500 hrs on the boat when I sold it. This hull is REALLY sensitive to loading and I ended up with Tab e...

Re: Merc 230 MIE w/ Thunderbolt IV - Chevy 305

I have the same thing happening on my Stb crusader 270. Ran through most of the same stuff you are checking and had the carbs rebuit. Rebuilt my anti-siphons and it was still happening, I can get 2800/2900 out of it, at WOT, then it may stay there or lose rpm's for no apperant reason. I did most of ...

Re: New Member with questions after sea trial

My F32 has Crusader 270's, and not sure how they compare to Chryslers. At 3000 rpm I am running 21 mph and getting .88 mpg. I think you could use that as ballpark for your needs. ( Gas in my neck of the woods is $3.00 / gallon, so a little over 800 to do 260 miles ) I don't ever run at hull speed be...
