The seacocks I'll leave alone. They are designed with friction as not to open or close accidentally. However each of the ball valves for the freshwater flush systems, 2 engines, 1 genset and 1 air conditioner will probably get one of those mini elastic bungee cords attached just as a precaution. THA...

I suppose I should have specified SEACOCKS rather than ball valves. The seacocks are a type of ball valve, however they carry a significant amount of friction load to prevent accidental opening/closing. There are however two small ball valves for the fresh water flush system. (same with the genset a...

I added a 3500 gph emergency bilge pumo to my 10 Meter and now have 4 bilge pumps.

Also plumbed a couple of 2" tees with ball valves into the raw water intakes of my engines to allow for emergency pumping and a fresh water flushing system.

I hope I never have to use those.

Yanmar 315 LP 's and the Volvo D Series 6 cyl will fit the 10 Meter without the aft cabin.

Height was the constraint.

You may have more height with the 10.8 Meter, don't know for sure.

This project is not for the faint of heart, but what a boat !

Love those Yannies !

That will be a tough to find.

If you decide to build one I would be happy to provide the dimensions for you.

You'll need a stainless sink, refrigerator/ice maker and a good cabinetmaker.

Like a fine old car, sitting in the junkyard, the cost in both labor and parts to refurbish these boats generally excedes thier replacement value on the market. It's hard to imagine that old girl once was a glistening, brand new vessel, on delivery day to a happy owner. She'll unlikely ever return t...

Before repowering to diesels I was able to consistently average .8 NMPG with results as high as .85. This was accomplished by using a fuel flow meter, GPS and a digital tach/synchronizer. 15 kts @ 2800 RPM was the sweet spot after increasing the size of the factory trim tabs, removing the exhaust di...

During the refitting of my 10 meter international we had the fuel tank out and determined that if we cut a large enough hole in liner we could set the rear bilge bump down lower, actually below that gap between the liner and the hull. Now the pump is attached to the hull, below the liner and sucks u...

Consider how much you like the boat and how long you might keep her. Then consider how much it will cost to do the rebuild. Make this a base cost or a ground zero. Anything above this is "THE DIFFERENCE" Now, having established that your rebuild may or may not include new oil coolers, tran...

Juice, When I was running the gas engines on my 10 Meter, I put an inclinanometer at the helm. I took my performance numbers to the Bennet booth at the boat show and determined that increasing the trim tab size and adding drop fins would provide the additional lift necessary. I increased length from...
