Re: Allen Sr.

Glad to hear that he is doing good, I've been out of the loop for a few weeks. He will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery, give him our best.

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

Hi Matt, I moved the cleat forward and installed the windlass where the cleat was originally. The cleat is installed on center and I've never had the rope or chain get caught on it. I think it's because the rear roller on the bow roller assembly tips up when the anchor is deployed and keeps the rod...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

Hi Paul, Thanks for the photo, it's going to help quite a bit. Your deck looks to be in great shape I have a couple of questions regarding the windlass: Did you move your bow cleat when you installed the Windlass, and if so is it off center just a bit so it won't catch the anchor line when it's lowe...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

Thank you Paul, that would be great. I do like the idea of being able to control it from the helm, I will take a look at that model.

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

Thanks guys Wow Matt. looks great! Good time to add a windlass. Paul, do you have a windlass on your F-26? That's funny, I was thinking the same thing and also adding a pulpit. Not sure what type of windlass to go with though, there are so many to chose from and I don't want to make a snap de...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

The forward deck is structurally done, one more layer of glass then the fairing and filling can begin. For the first time I was able to stand on the forward deck without the mush underfoot, what a great feeling. Once this is set then we will continue down the deck between the cabin and gunnels, on b...

Boating App

I found an interesting free boating app for my Iphone this week, and I believe it will also work on an android based phone. The Sea Tow app, which will give you the status of the tide based on where you are located, you have to have gps location services activated on your phone. I've been playing wi...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

Thanks Tom, The cabin top is structurally completed, and came out really well. It's just waiting for it's new gelcoat. Sorry for the photo of the cabin top (the photo is the starboard front corner) as all of the working tools were placed on the cabin top before I could take a picture of it, but I'm ...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

The project is continuing to move forward, the area that had the core removed has been prepped and is ready to receive it's new core. It was dri-fit this week, waiting for it to warm up a bit to start closing this section up. I removed the Bow cleat, in preparation for starting that section next, an...

Re: F-26 Deck Repair

Thanks Tom, from what I've learned so far, when you do your bridge, unless you have some good support under the deck I would do it in sections as once you remove a large section of deck and expose the lower layer of glass, it is a bit on the flimsy side. The bottom layer of glass is appx 1/8". ...
