Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal
Ok I'm almost there.. lol. As always I didn't accomplish what I wanted to but I did make progress. One note I would like to throw out there. The old framing was white oak. After much deliberation I went with treated yellow pine instead. My thought being if treated wood was around back in the day man...

1976 F-32 Sedan - Exhaust Pipe Routing
I'm starting to wonder if the exhaust pipes are in the right position. The hangers that appear to have been used by the bulkhead under the sliding doors were not connected due to the bulkhead rotting out. Now that I have rebuilt the bulkhead how do I know if I put the exhaust pipe at the right heigh...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal
OK I think I'm ready to close up the cockpit bilge with the new deck. All I need to do is replace some framing that I already have milled and ready to install. Clean up the wiring and add wire management where needed. Suspend the mufflers from the new framing. Then sheet the deck with plywood and fi...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal
I guess I'm just a stickler on making things as original as possible. So some how I'll get my hands on the original light mast. My flybridge is in good shape so a good buffing and it should shine up nice..

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal
The reason I'm interested in the original is because my flybridge still has the old holes for the mast and outriggers. And the mast light I currently have is shot. I would rather install the original for now and when I redo the fly bridge I'll change to the radar arch. This years budget is small due...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal
Finally A little more progress. I installed the two starboard and portside deck beams that had rotted out pretty bad. Does anyone know how the aft ends of these were supported? I can't figure out if the attach to the vent box or the transom. Next will be laying the decking with 3/4" marine plyw...

Re: Lewco FS1240ACD Battery Charger
Sound Advice Oldboat1. Bringing batteries home this weekend to do just that. Plus measuring for cable lengths needed becuase I want to locate the charger as close to the batteries as possible. Will use #8 battery cable for charger to battery leads.

Re: Lewco FS1240ACD Battery Charger
This is out of the Manual for the charger. I picked this up for free because I'm on a tight budget this year because of all the repairs needed before spring. LEWCO BATTERY CHARGER MANUAL…The Full Service (F.S.) model is load-handling electronically controlled unit. EFFICIENCY… Due to the extremely h...

Re: Lewco FS1240ACD Battery Charger
So this charger works for different battery types and charges in multiple stages depending on the charge the battery needs. It handles three battery banks that can be different types of batteries. Will go down to a maintenance charge when needed. What does a smart charger give me that this doesn't?

Lewco FS1240ACD Battery Charger
I just picked up a Lewco FS1240ACD 3 - Bank battery charger. Has anyone had one? Currently using one? Or had one? Seems like a good marine charger but I'm looking for everyone's opinion on it.
