I had a leak on my port cabin side window towards the front. Mine was caused by a dried out caulk bead on the frame itself. I ended up re-bedding the frame and haven't had a leak since.

Why don't you just get all of them re-chromed? I just had all of my original deck hardware re-chromed when I redid the deck. Depending on how many stanchions you have, if might be cheaper. The whole boat was sprayed from the rubrail up with Gel-Coat, The photo's show the initial buff after wet sanding. All that's left is fix a few spots, then roll on the gel coat non-skid in the spring
