Re: 1954 Sea Queen 14'

I think this is a Johnson 35. Didn't they come with an attachment towards the rear that looked like handles which was for setting the engine on the hard when it was off the boat, as these were outboards that could be moved boat to boat? I think these engines were seen in the late 50s early 60s.

Re: Rudder bearing removal

I got lucky with on rudder on old scrap F28, came right out. Not so much for other one. Just cut cross boards, top bearing came out easy on each. Second one used the old reciprocating saw and cut a whole in bottom of old boat and guess what if fell out. :D Then in shop used press to push the shaft o...

Re: F36 tri-cabin speed

Paul I do not think the 4 blades would help as they are 20x19 if I take 2 inches pitch out I am at 20x17 with 4 blades. Me thinks would be worse than now.

Re: Bilge Pumps 1976 Tri Cabin 36F

I have an 84 tri cab which is probably different than yours. I have 3 bilge pumps front, engine compartment, and at stern equipment area. The three are originally installed. There should be two drains (called garboard drain) that have a standard bronze square head plug screwed in. One in front and o...

Re: F36 tri-cabin speed

I am going to do the calcs per this book which according it can be pretty accurate. I agree less pitch for sure, however these props are spendy so cannot just try one after the other. The bigger diameter the proper the more efficient if you have not over pitched it. I am pretty sure when it is said ...

Re: F36 tri-cabin speed

I have the same 20x17 but 270 crusaders so with less power the best speed ever was 22 mph I think with a tail wind and rpms maxed at 3500. I agree with paul, I am sure I will need less pitch and or less diameter. I am really wanting to know what speeds our tri-cabs get at WOT and 4400 pms. Once I fi...

Re: Chromalox Cabin Heaters

My reverse cycle happens automatically. When you turn the dial to warmer it will actuate the reversing valve and magic heat which works fine. They are cruiseaires. There is no dedicated cool heat switch other than the know labeled cool and warm. There digital aftermarket controls. A search of this w...

Re: Exhaust Manifold Drain port plugs

"Are these in the Exhaust port or water jacket ? Most likely they rusted out so the holes maybe over size from what they were" Paul pretty certain the larger ones at either end are exhaust, I guess to be used for some other installation. The 1/4 plugs let the water drain from these log man...
