The exhaust boot - do you have a hole in it for a 'tell tale' or any other way of confirming you are pumping water ? Most commercial versions of the boot that I have seen (usually rubber, but some cast or stainless versions too) have some hole(s) above the waterline to allow you to confirm you are p...

[quote="CoralkongYes, anything in the bilge needs to be ignition protected, couldn't agree more. You need a marine fuel pump, ignition-protected battery charger, USCG approved fuel hoses, bilge blowers, etc... etc.... I don't recall seeing anything in the USCG regulations pertaining to air cond...

Just to put the 'debate' between Juice and Prowlersfish aside - the reality is driving from up top vs lower station is a personal preference.... so here are some of the considerations / pros / cons, and you can decide for yourself what works better for you. Yes, up top the visibility is great, and i...

I think the concerns / considerations that people are raising here are all valid - but I get the feeling you are not really looking for assistance, just trying to find someone to agree with you and your hvac sub.... You can believe whoever you want to I guess. BUT, instead of losing storage space an...

What a bugger... A friend of mine had a 3/4 size fridge in a Viking 43 Double Cabin that got fried.... had to pull window treatments and trim, remove a side window, and cut a chunk out of the remaining framing to get it out and thew one in (with 1/4" to spare). Then had to get a guy try to matc...

Sender and gauge need to be 'matched' in terms of triggering on voltage or resistance or current, and whether high or low signal means full scale or zero etc... If you got a new sender that matches the gauge, put 'em both in. If you still get this behaviour, it would suggest you might have some wiri...

If you only got 3000 RPM at WOT its either a major prop oversize issue, or possibly a tuning issue as well... Ignoring prop diamater, for every inch of pitch you would typically see a difference of about 200-300 RPM. You should be around 4200-4500 RPM at WOT, so if you have the right diameter you ar...

The info I gave here re history, I got from the owners a few years back... it's certainly not a production configuration. It is different, and interesting. And 'rare' is a good word for it - don't think there is another the same anywhere.

Not sure why Bill (the broker) listed it as an F36 - he knows his stuff and would know it isn't an F36. Maybe he figured labelling it a 'custom' would greatly reduce the number of people who might see it via search in yachtworld.... (how many look for 'custom', vs Trojan or F36?) so he picked closes...

I know the boat - it operates out of my marina. It IS a Trojan, but a custom job. When Trojan shut down there were several incomplete hulls sitting around. Someone bought this empty hull (for a 36 tri cabin), and built custom superstructure and interior. Owners are good people who looked after it. A...

I also have the Syten system. My leak (very slow and minor) is where the hoses connect to the ram near the tiller arm. Every spring I check fluid level and top it up a bit. The check valves are also going / gone as my steering is a bit 'sloppy' .... If I have a strong beam wind I have to keep turnin...

I use a similar type of service called Trackem. It can be used for boat, vehicle, or personal tracking (you can wire a little black box in to your 12v system, or run software on most BlackBerry phones to capture your lat/long and send to the server), and has a web site where you can go see where the...

RWS - I hope you have a problem with your chart... if you are going through 60 gph at 1800 RPM / 10ish knots its time to look for a hole in the tank!
