Re: Looking for info on work done to an F32

Saw that boat at the show way back when and posted a few comments in mac32's original thread. I posted a couple of pics pulled down from their web site but the resolution is not very good. Never did find the GAMG flier I had with the extra pics, but will make another attempt to see if I can find it ...

Re: Engines Stalling

You didn't mention fuel filters / water separators. Did you clean or swap them out too?

Re: 11 meter dinette

On my 81 F-32 the dinette table had to be lowered (leg collapsed) to remove it from the bracket. Not up. I had posted this a few years back but the picture appears to be gone from the original post... Don't know if it is the same on the Internationals, but for the F32 the 'hinge' where the table me...

Re: Engines Quit When Warm

Heat / vapour lock issue with less fuel flow at low RPMs, or perhaps choke closing on the carbs?

Re: Help in Restoration Please

I'm about to do the same thing. Will post photos in the next few weeks I hope. Can't wait to see how you tackled it. I can tell you what I will NOT be using... varnish of any kind. Varnish should never be used on surface that you walk on that might get wet, because it gets slippery and becomes a ha...

Re: Noise at shaft?

Possibly the bearing, or alignment issue (maybe strut got a bit bent in the impact and nobody notice?). Other possibilities -- stuffing box may be too tight or (took me a couple years to figure this one out!!!) packing nut may be cross-threaded. I had a squeal that only happened after shifting into ...

Looks nice! Certainlly has the Sea Bee emblem.

Re: inclinometer - correct way to measure running angle?

Trim tabs are useless and dangerous in following seas and should always be fully retracted in those conditions. Exactly. So if you put a lot of weight in the bow to keep it down, you can't undo that in a following sea. The weight will keep the bow down even though its safer to lift it up. If attitu...

Re: inclinometer - correct way to measure running angle?

200 feet of chain and a bigger anchor cured our need for trim tab use. But also hinders your ability to lift the bow a bit higher when dealing with following seas / surfing conditions to reduce chances of stuffing the bow into the back of a wave. Not saying what you did is a bad idea, just trying t...

Re: inclinometer - correct way to measure running angle?

Have posted on this subject a couple times before, but I don't think you really need an inclinometer... Bring the boat up to a certain RPM (that is good planing speed), you can play with the tabs to find the best running angle. Don't mash the tabs, just tap them a half second or so at a time. Up or ...

Re: Princess Range problem

Trying to remember specifically, but it seems to me on my former Trojan I had to choose between the oven or the burners. Not both at the same time. There was a switch. Could you have flipped it down accidentally? If that wasn't what you really meant, then I apologize. You probably meant that when t...

Re: 10m mid cabin - Crusader 8.1's initial impression

Some tachs have a selector on the back for 4, 6, or 8 cyl engines and scale the incoming signal accordingly. If that applies to yours, any chance the selector is not fully seated in the right position?
