Re: 10 Meter Mid Cabin "Refresh" ***Title Change***
Ok, here's the last BIG upgrade of the year..a new platform! I ordered this bad boy from Butler Marine in PA. Mike at Butler is almost as great at customer service as Bob...not quite though. No on is actually as good as Bob! So here's the story. I debated rebuilding my existing platform, but at the ...

Check out this post for some prop talk. I switched my old F27 (same boat as the F26) to a 14x10 and that thing would rip. 27 WOT.
I also had the 305 but it had the thunderbolt ignition system.

Re: Share a photo of your trojan
First big raft off of the year last weekend. The boat to our port is my in-laws 1980 Viking 43 double cabin. We brought her from Lake St Clair to Syracuse in the beginning of May. Quite the trip!

Re: Wet Sanding, Compounding, Sore Arms and a Custom Catamaran
Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm pleased with the results. There are a few spots I'd like to hit again, but overall she's looking great. I know the general opinion is that you should try everything else before wet sanding, but it became really clear that she needed the sanding. Now I have t...

Wet Sanding, Compounding, Sore Arms and a Custom Catamaran
Well folks, here's the latest from beautiful Syracuse, NY. 1. My stripes are gone and my hull shines. I paid a local guy to wet sand the stripes off and buff out below the rub rail. While he was doing it, i managed to get some lessons in wet sanding. 2. I wet sanded just about every inch above the r...

Re: 10 Meter Mid Cabin "Refresh" ***Title Change***
Thanks! I feel like she is really starting to come together.
I was reminded by my wife yesterday that removing the coaming boards and the old boat name were the first two things i did to this boat. It only took me 2 years, but at least i've finished 1/2 of my first mods.

Re: 10 Meter Mid Cabin "Refresh" ***Title Change***
Just updating everyone on this years projects so far. It was a year of aesthetics! We had our seats done by a professional and I decided to give upholstery work a try on my coaming boards. I still have to figure out how I am going to wrap the corners, but i'm 99% there. Here area few pics... I stole...

Re: Finding Water Intrusion and Installing Underwater lights
The rudder design on the International will not allow ANY water intrusion, PERIOD. Top bearing is above the water line. Bottom is external to the boat. my Lumitech lights arrived today ! 5 Quattros two each on the rudder covers, mounted vertically and one on the divers dream zinc mount = zero holes...

Finding Water Intrusion and Installing Underwater lights
oh boy...tis the season for fitting out and starting projects! The last two seasons, I hunted for a slow leak on the transom of my mid cabin. I thought it was the trim tab mounting hardware, so i went to town on the fiberglass last year. I sanded, filled, epoxied until I thought for sure that there ...

Re: New Trojan Express owner
Thank you so much for your insight. The two vessels I am looking at are 10 meter express. My previous experience is 3 Sea Rays and one 29 Phoenix. The Sea Rays were 24 and 26. I was surprised when the surveyour warned about the water issue. I have not contracted yet but perhaps he does not know wha...
