in deltaville, west has two less than 1000' from each one was a bw they bought out and re-done it it's a great big toy store now :D they're going to shut the old one down soon re-do it and turn it in to a sailing shop for those guy that work sheets underway Wasn't it a Boat US store before not a BW ?

I clean it with 409 or simple green ( or like product ) I have had to use a pressuer washer if its bad .and I use teak oil . A lot of folks use Cetol as it lasts longer . the oil you have to do all the time but I like the look of oil over Cetol .

Rust o leum makes a marine paint thats works well and is not costly but it works well in trim and some panels I have done . lowes has it

Some one has added on to the rudder to make it turn better . shoud be fine the only proplem that you may have is it may be harder to turn becuse they added only to the rear of the rudder not front . I dont think you will really notice . only a sea trial will tell .

I can anwers part of the question . you are correct on the battery swtich and you can tie both negative together and run 1 cable to the block . even thought I like to have a cable fron each battery go to the block .

How deep are they snapping off ? If pretty deep you could go to a larger diameter bolt that is shorter . your could change mounts to one with a different foot print ( fill the old holes with epoxy ) and of course you can try drilling the old bolts out .
