Engines will definitely draw from different tanks differently. I have a single 318 with a port and starboard fuel tank. The port tank has an approximately 3 foot run of copper tubing to the fuel filter while the starboard tank has an approximately 10 foot run of copper tubing to the fuel filter. I s...

Transmission Fluid Level

I have a Paragon PV32R transmission with V drive. The dipsticks for both the transmission and V drive have a flat portion at the bottom of the stick with a line approximately in the middle of the flat portion. Is this line the maximum or minimum level? If the line is the minimum level, is the top of...

Wow! Really cool to see seated at my computer. I don't think I would feel the same way if I was sitting on my boat.

Dual refers to the number of gauges connected to the sender. Standard means the sender is grounded to the engine block directly. Floating means the sender has a ground wire that needs to be connected to a ground. Before ordering a replacement sender, measure the sender that is currently in the engin...

Model Year of Paragon PV32R

I have a 1971 Chrysler 318 with a Paragon PV32R transmission/V drive. The Paragon PV32R is not the original transmission. Does anyone know how I can determine the model year of the transmission? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Sorry to see Sea Dog was damaged. Hope she's good as new and back in the water soon. Looking at the pictures, Trojan used some heavy duty woven roving when they laid up the boat. Trojan really built these boats to last. I doubt a chopper gun boat would last 33 years, with many more good years ahead ...

Checking Transmission Fluid

I know that transmission fluid needs to be checked hot. My question is, does the transmission need to be recently in gear or is running the engine in neutral good enough? I want to change my transmission fluid while the boat is on the trailer, but would prefer to not put the engine in gear while it ...

Coolant Hose Connectors And Tees

I found this website that sells coolant hose connectors and tees. I thought it might be of use to others. Jeff, would you be willing to put this in the library?

For a twin screw boat, splitting the throttles and transmissions makes sense because during low speed maneauvering the boat is being steered with the transmissions. The helm and throttles are rarely touched. The helmsman has one hand on the port transmission and the other hand on the starboard trans...

Control Box

Has anyone ever converted the two lever control box (transmission and throttle) to a one lever control box? My last boat had a one lever control box, and it seemed much easier to use. Are there any advantages to the two lever control box in a single engine boat?

Bypass Hose for LM318

Does anyone know of a good place to purchase an LM318 bypass hose? The hose is 1 1/8" (28 mm) inner diameter and has two 90 degree bends.

I'm a bit superstitious when it comes to boat names. I would stay with No Problem. If you want to rename her, leave No Problem on the transom and put AKA My Tyme II underneath. That should keep Neptune happy. :D
