One thing that will help is flushing the head with fresh water rather then salt water ( or lake or river water to a lesser degree) when you flush with raw water it has all sorts of stuff living in it . once it gets in the lines , things die and start to smell . But if you really like the boat can you say Diesel ?? Sure I can say Diesel, can you say not practical. With the cost of the diesel engines, changing the fuel tanks, changing the shaft size, changing the struts….and not to mention the short season in the great lakes it just doesn’t make scenes ...
