Am I the only one thinking the obvious? While it does seem your shaft/shaft log clearances could be improved... this seems like quite a project in order to excersize your gears on the hard. It seems much simpler to put some good lubricant on the shaft/cutlass bearing and a little on the shaft/packin...

Double check the date. That's on the cusp of being a TAMD41A or TAMD41B. If they are the B series, don't let em go- fantastic engines (I have a pair in my F-32) and they are essentially the same as the latest TAMD41P series and with a few upgrades to correct minor annoyances, they are a simple, reli...

I have diesels which are proabably comperable to big blocks in weight. They were moved aft (from where the 318's were) but how far you can move them back and down is governed by transmission output shaft locaton and oil pan clearace. In my case- it wasn't much but a 230 gallon tank under the cockpit...

Cap- No- the engine didn't blow on the journey. See the text from the story below. "He did some work on the boat, though he didn’t replace the engine , and then John headed home once again. This time, just as he got to the mouth of the Potomac River, the steering broke and he ran out of fuel....

It is sad but a good lesson to all. Operating a boat in the ocean is a big responsibility. Sure there's help available- but that help starts with self help and making sure your passengers and vessel are as safe and prepared as they can be for a given outing. The only way I'd take my boat out of the ...

what an absolute tragedy! I'm sure all involved will suffer questions and self doubt for the rest of their lives. Am I the only one not ready to lynch the captian? Not that I'd ever have anywhere near that many people on my F32- but this nonsense of name plate loading... I've not seen one on larger ...

Depending on shaft size, how long it's been on, even with a puller and on land- this could be VERY difficult. In the water without a puller.????? Good luck!!! I do have one request if you try this... Please film the whole experience and post it on here. If by some miracle your able to beat the prop ...

That looks more dangerous than fun. Never fails- every year we go to a 4th of July fire works display on the boat- as soon as it's over- every yahoo immediatly tries to get on plane as if there's an incoming mortar! some, clearly "impaired" with way too many people aboard a way too small b...

"Young Guys"????? Thanks! I haven't been called that in 20 years! Yes- I'm old enough to have drawn with t-square and triangles- then Mutoh drafting heads and now computer. I fought it too... but while you were "done -drinking coffee", I was buiding part libraries and importable ...
