Judging by my port shaft, the starboard shaft looks to have pulled away from the coupler a tad. Can anybody be walk me through repairing this, and/or sourcing a new key? Boat is still...

Re: Acceptable amount of steam from exhaust

Appreciate the insight!

I plan to remove/inspect the cooling system over the winter.

I figured the (now) cooler/cold water may have had something to do with it as well.

As always, thanks for the help!

Acceptable amount of steam from exhaust

Hey gang, While under power (3000rpm), I have steam blowing out both exhaust ports. If I pull back to idle (650+/-), it disappears in about 5-6 seconds. I can cruise all day at 6-10 knot and not see any steam until I throttle up. Temp & oil gauges read fine—and stay consistent. High flow of wate...

Re: Cable adjustments?

Under the shifter, I removed the cotter pin & backed the barrel-nut off about 6 or 7 turns. Problem solved! :D

Cable adjustments?

Hey gang, Is there any adjustability with the throttle and shift cables? Specially upper helm controls? I haven’t pulled anything apart yet—just trying to come up with a game plan. My scenario: My Lower controls work flawlessly. Zero issues. However, while using my Upper controls which are nice and ...

Ignition switch going bad?

Hey gang, Random issue—Went to start the boat last night and my port ignition switch (lower helm) would not spin the starter. It would do its usual alarm buzz when you turn the key, but nothing past that. Full disclosure, I haven’t looked into the problem yet—we had family over today. I figured It’s...

Re: Solenoid identification

Great minds think alike!

Yes, I have the emergency start button. And you would be correct—there is no ground, which puzzled me.

How would I test if this thing even works? I was planning to install a battery switch and extra battery per motor—that would be a better option, no?

Re: Solenoid identification

Both black ends cables aren’t attached to anything—I was under the assumption each would possibly go to a positive terminal on each battery?

I’m going to stop over tomorrow after work and try to trace the red wiring.

Re: Prop strut backing plates

I'm planning to coat the new wood with exterior polyeurethane--likely tomorrow afternoon after things dry out from the past 2 days of rain showers. Is that sufficient, or should I consider another product?
