Re: New trojan 400 owner. Lots of questions
Changing the mains to 30 amp would be the smart / right thing to do . I never fully trust marina breakers +1 You are taking a big chance relying on the marina breaker to protect your boat. A couple of cases come to mind: 1) What if the receptacle at the marina is a 30A receptacle, but the breaker i...

Re: International helm plastic type
This may be helpful: http://www.polyvance.com/pfxinstrumentpanel.php Very interesting! I have never run into those products, but it is sure nice to know they exist. I was a plastics fabricator while in college making skins for electronics equipment. We used a bunch of ABS, and glued with PVC cement...

Re: Winter cover support F-32
While we use a nylon billboard tarp as a cover, we had a similar problem last year deciding what to use. I ended up going with 3/4" conduit and a combination of clamps. The goal was to have a sturdy frame that could be easily set up and taken down each year, yet be easy to store. There are a lo...

K4282, Google "F32 lawsuit" read "The Hull Truth" Article refers to the fairly flat 9 degree dead rise and the importance of weight in the stern on this model. etc; etc; Much better info is located at http://www.leagle.com/decision/19871426692FSupp734_11336/ANDERSON%20v.%20WHITT...

Re: Engine Winterization
If you want to be sure you have enough antifreeze coming through the engine and exhaust, you might want to use a refractometer. I used to think they were very expensive, but I found this one at Amazon for $25 and it seems to be quite accurate when using reference fluids. https://www.amazon.com/Ade-A...

Re: Winter cover support F-32
Have you checked with Fred at Fisher Canvas (800-892-6688)? We ordered a Fisher cover for our last boat and he provided excellent support to us. Many of their covers include pockets for 2x4 supports that are all you need. I have never seen one of their covers for a F-32, but am hoping you post a pho...

Re: Aaron Bocknek -- 1960 to 2016
I didn't know Aaron personally, but from this forum, it is clear that he is one of the people who have made it a very special place. The world feels a diminished to me, knowing that Aaron is no longer with us to share his friendship and knowledge. RIP

Re: What Fuel Stabilizer do you use?
We have used Star Tron for years with good results, even with E10 fuel. The Star Tron goes in every time we add fuel, so nothing to worry about for winter layup.

Re: Lightning Strike at Marina
We had a breaker fail recently. The whole circuit was dead and the wire coming into the breaker was overheated with melted insulation. We were quite lucky to avoid a fire since there is nearby fiberglass and a spark could have ignited it. I do not think lightning was involved. Here is what the break...

Scott, I think it says a lot about who you are, when you don't have a Trojan any longer yet you still support this site, both financially and by doing nice things like this!

Re: Steering Slop Fix
Its always nice to have the proper tools! It looks like you did a great job and should not have to work on that for a long time. I need to do some work on our steering, but for a different reason. I need to add a linear drive and rudder position sensor so that I can get the autopilot installed. Hope...
